New York, NY, listened to the best MTA real estate scandals vs au current and count the water planes on their way to the Hamptons
In Chelsea, cheering on the anti-Quinn demonstrators by the subway when a gentleman also anti-Quinn gave me many insights in to real estate scandalous wheelings and dealings pre-Bloomberg, socialite city planner mega millionaire Amanda Burden and Christine slushgate Quinn. He focused on the MTA past dealings and I told him about Cooper Union's dangerous supersizing by the two subway stations at Astor Place and NYU's massive mega dorming by the Union Square subway station including the USPS never notifying the State of NY as legally required when the USPS sold the air rights over St. Ann's at 120 East 12th Street. The State of New York would have come in and examined is this in the best interest of the community and I would have asked them to take a look at the crumbling subways where all this higher ed busts through our zoning and weighs the heaviest on our old crumbling infrastructure although I have seen them first hand lay down brand spanking new pipes in front of their builds only to watch sink holes, water pipes bursting and man hole covers explode blocks away! The streets were better in Colonial Times!!!!!!
Aaah, Bloomberg's New York is just wonderful...if you are a ruthless developer!!! Especially if you are a ruthless developer and get to use your not for profit status like a tax shelter and cash in on all your powerful connections like NYU, Cooper Union and Columbia University!
Bloomberg, socialite mega millionaire city planner Burden -- truly the people's burden (Burden our burden wordplay from commentor Queen's Crap) as she sells the land out from under us, aids and abetts NYU & Cooper in zone busting, and Slushgate Quinn all support eminent domain abuse and under Bloomberg it happened just about everywhere, as much as possible as Bloomberg takes a break from being emperor to imagine himself Moses...Robert Moses..... Willets Point, Ratner - Brooklyn (not Steve Rattner, Mike's money manger possibly implicated in the pension scandals at City Hall and elsewhere). Again leave it to "higher ed ", in this case, Columbia University to displace an entire community -- Manhattanville. Isn't the New York Times building actually -- The New York eminent domain Times building?
The gentleman giving me insights into MTA wheelings and dealings from the past that conjured the film, The Godfather, pointed out it has been at least 2 years that Zeckendorf has yet to keep it's side of the "bargin" and fix that darn escalator that never works at 14th Street subway station. Well, at least Zeckendorf gave us an escalator which is more than I can say for NYU, Columbia University and Cooper Union that just want to gives us buses and train rides with one way tickets out of here for their unending need to expand their real estate in all directions including sky piercing builds in Cooper Union's case that unmask their greed completely not bothering to even pose as anything but landlord at Cooper Union with 2 sky piercing hideous buildings so the hideous mirrored building that reflects a history destroyed and a community no longer welcome that looks more than half empty can have a sister building that is a tall and have nothing to do with higher ed. The zone busters all will line up with the Cooper Union mega dorm which punctuates the stream of NYU mega dorms from 14th Street down 3rd Avenue! The good news is it can't be uglier and more crass than the new Cooper Union studio building that looks like it belongs in a bad Hollywood B sci-fi horror movie.
I hear Cooper Union and Stern Business School are coordinating a "$#%^ counter-culture, greed is where it's at class, taught by Gordon Gekko himself in the New Cooper Union Studio building as well as at NYU's Stern! He will also explain how to use higher ed as a tax shelter while exploiting and displacing the neighborhood and not go to prison!!! Gekko will be joined by a special guest from the community that has been rumored to sell a building to himself for a dollar and mass evict everyone!!!! There goes the neighborhood...up up and away, in the worst of ways....
I am busily counting the water planes flying off to the Hamptons wondering why we can't put a toll booth in the sky and raise the toll on luxury trips by plane and copter to the Hamptons and mega bucks that fly to work instead of drive. Ho hum....
Tweed del dee Tweed del dumb, just waiting for the next big scandal to be exposed at City Hall coming soon to the front pages of The NY Post and The New York Daily News....
