My Lenape friend has transformed the hat he found in the garbage and here are some photos of the paint and feathers. An occasional breeze would make the feathers dance and stand at attention. By the way, he is not homeless...just a fixture in the park and a kind soul.
Karl is back. He was not arrested. He fell and hit his head...as in KOed himself. They took good care of him in the hospital and he seemed "clear". I on the other hand I was drunk on anxiety and angst if that is possible. I know they key is to be in the present moment and to let go -- move forward. I need to focus on the positives in my life and attitude of gratitude.
There are people in the city that don't consider themselves mafia but they want to shut you down in anyway possible to shut you up. Read on about why I have even more respect for our founding father's and late in life I feel at peace and extra amounts of love for my 83 year old Dad that helped me through this trauma.
Speaking up takes so much courage and that was another reason I wrote "Murderville in the East Village" besides all the beautiful buildings and community members that seem to vanish from gentrification or death (could one die - death by all the upset of this /////// going on here that feels so corrupt and destructive? We have lost a lot of people that dared to speak up) but I had no idea when I wrote it what would happen next. I have even more respect for our founding fathers. I also look forward to seeing my Dad on Father's day.
Popped in Benny's Burrito's to say hi. My pants pockets bulging but not with excitement, with lots of keys to the next chapter. Like Peter from Whole Earth Bakery and Kitchen -- we are smilers but the stressors that make it tough to smile are there. As much as I am an emotional nudist there is so much I don't write about here and you supportive comments really are an uplift for me to thank you. Also enormous gratitude to the people that helped me through this crisis rather than try to exploit me and thanks for taking care of so many of my "things" some still scattered all over the neighborhood. You good people represent neighborhood -- community and caring which is what NYC is about...thanks and gratitude. This thanks extends beyond the 'hood as well...thanks, gratitude and love.
Please go to my search engine and type in Whole Earth to read more about the on going threat of eviction and help in anyway you can. Say hi to Peter! Also please remember
www.47e3.orgthey lost the next round in court and they need our support.
Thanks and love from the East Village, NYC. Suzannah B.
p.s. greatest pleasures are passion related, nature, my pets and everyone's pets, neighborhood, people that I can relax with because they are not trying to take advantage of me and for now getting my messy podcasts in itunes. I carry them with me...just love it.
