No surprise Patricia Lancaster resigns and when dollar bill Dan Doctoroff resigned there was a rumor on the street, not Wall Street but the streets of the East Village it was the mayor's move to save face or other body parts and more is to come.
This was bigger than Patricia Lancaster and it was a tsunami of way too rapid, zone busting, supersizing mega builds on a old infrastructure and the "the key to greed is speed!" The rapidity of the these builds, the 7 day a week passes, the late night passes, ++++the USPS and NYU speedy air sale deal where the USPS felt because they are federal they are above State Law when selling air space over a historical site, the UPS felt they were not obligated to notify the State of New York as legally required. The USPS air sale to NYU speedily by passed notifying the State of New York as legally required and all documented on www.gvshp.org and I reposted the letters on my many posts on this blog, just look under St. Ann's on this blog.
When I got my "Destroying 'old' New York" letter published in AM New York, Jan 11, I handed it in to Con Ed and asked them to ask the mayor to slow down!!!!
The city council, every city head of each dept needed to get the mayor to listen to what every activist city wide here in NYC said to the mayor -- some right to his face "SLOW DOWN!!!! " We want accountability, safety first, we want answers....
I spoke up at the City Council Task force meeting and go to the link listings on this page and click under Jefferson Siegel to see the photograph of me there. Anyone there and it was a packed house will remember what I had to say and I addressed it there. Also posted on this blog is my letter published in The New York Daily News "Body Bag Boom".
Towards the end of any administration scandals arise like old milk in a fresh cup of coffee...I only pray that no more lives are taken or injured due to infrastructure under this mayor or the mayor that inherits the new supersized New York on old New York's infrastructure and I had emailed Dan Doctoroff about this several times only to have him have someone email back it was all okay and that was before the infrastructure break that looked like a terror attack. The head of DEP and Con Ed needed to say to the mayor, slow down, safety first.
note the date of this letter:

Jefferson Siegel's photo of me wearing my hand painting shirt that yells to stop this tsunami of community crushing development....note the day and even though it was DOB, I also talked about infrastructure because it is a no brainer that what you build above ground is connected to below ground and it can't be treated like western medicine that specializes in one body part as if it is not all relative. Yes, developers put in token pipes but it just puts more pressure on the old pipes that burst blocks away from the new builds. Do research on how many infrastructure problems we have had in my area alone with man holes covers busting, gas leaks, fires coming up from man hole covers - (I see one at south east corner Tompkin Square Park and it roasted a Mercedes) steam pipe, sink holes, sewage, etc.
Here is a theoretical....some of the newspapers are involved in mega builds and air space sales so you don't see much reporting....
