Jessica Tush rest in Peace, Staten Island which I call NYC's heart, loses an Angel, more thoughts on violence towards women.
Again I find myself wishing a grieving family and all those who loved this beautiful young woman heart felt condolences and again I say no women, girls should die this way. Again I say more females die "death by violence" than from breast cancer and that is globally, my theory but violence and death by violence that continues to take it's high death toll is not treated like the battle to end cancer. The warning signals are often ignored because society has such a high threshold for the mistreatment of women which is often glamorized in film, tv and some rap music that I do my best not to listen to but was forced to because it was blared in public spaces. Young women and young men actually post violence towards their peers on you tube because they have no shame....the are incapable of empathy and actually take pleasure in inflicting pain and posting the painful traumatizing experience on the world wide web so why would we think we can cure this high threshold for violence , the death toll? Why are men with violent criminal records back out on the street which is often the case? Women tend to think the best about men and always see redeeming qualities and women tend to be judged far more harshly and often blamed -- as if they might have done something do deserve the violence, the rape, even their own death...and abusers want people to think that. Predators want to find people that are polite, that cannot say "No" and if you reject them they are enraged but if you don't and they hook you it may be just a matter of time before they are enraged.
Again, I glad this murderer will never see the light of day and maybe he will be treated by fellow inmates the way he dared to treat someone, I am sure other people that he felt he could bully and get away with it.
I can't write about every rape and murder in NYC, the USA and globally. I can't even get a statistical break down to support my theory but my heart breaks and everyone has experienced what I call verbal violence, intimidation and many have been blamed for all of the above.
*After 9-11, looking at Sept. 11, the days, the months after...I redefined Staten Island as New York City's heart 9-11, and there are people from Staten Island that touched me big time, 9-11.
