9-11 Memorial , The NY Sun has an article on the mayor, chairman of the 9-11 Memorial
I wrote this email to The Sun and this morning I had a dream I was trying to get to the funeral of a young FDNY fireman and I couldn't make it , so much anger and frustration so I just turned around and went to the fire house and found an empty cot and rested my body on it...just had to rest.
Here is what I wrote:
Mayor Mike Bloomberg makes it clear as chairman his commitment to raising money for the Sept. 11 Memorial but he is unwilling to date to pay the simple honor due of acknowledging our rescue workers with their rank. 9-11 people many were tremondously courageous, selfless and last words on earth were expressions of profound love but how denying our uniformed rescue workers the rank would some how take away from anybody else's memory is beyond me.
Sept. 11 marks the the largest loss of rescue workers in our Nation and city's history and the largest also with in each dept. for the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and EMS and this historical loss should have been always acknowledged at the seemingly unending fence at the WTC but their sacrifice has been made invisible.
It is time for the mayor to pay our rescue workers the simple honor due.
