If there was someone with an ounce of integrity -- they should have said no, we won't except your resignation and a very public arrest at city hall with all the press in attendance to photograph the first city council members to plead guilty.
Maria del Carmen Arroyo
Her mother taught her well how to get in to politics and rob the tax payers and the nephew -- a family affair. I am sure there are still people that would vote for them!
Is in it great to know that City Council voted themselves a raise when the NYPD's starting salary was lowered. City Council took time out to vote themselves a raise when they weren't too busy cooking the books to hide stealing tax payer money?
GEE HAS ANYONE NOTICED THAT SO FAR ALL THE CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS EXPOSED SO FAR HAPPEN TO BE ON THE LIST FOR VOTING TO EXTEND TERM LIMITS????? Seabrook and Stewart mysteriously are so far walking away without a guilty plea though which is puzzling.
BOTTOM LINE = POLITICO'S THAT DON'T WANT TERM LIMITS ARE BENT ON STEALING TAX PAYER MONEY AND IF THEY ARE NOT DOING IT IN BLATANT WAYS THAN THEY ARE DOING IN EGOTISTICAL WAYS LIKE THE ALBANY CLOWNS THAT HAVE COST NEW YORKERS MEGA MILLIONS BECAUSE THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THEIR JOB IS TOO SERVE THE PEOPLE. THEY ARE SPOILED AND VERY WASTEFUL WITH THE TAX PAYERS MONEY yet they don't consider that robbing the tax payers blind and they don't make the connection that lay offs and budget cuts come from their greedy self serving egotistical wasteful behavior.
So far one city council member was caught but from Albany to city hall, New York politics look like a big joke but it is not funny --- truly a horror show and it means budget cuts, lay offs as many politicians cunningly find ways to exploit tax payers money and feed their egos.
I will never forget the arrogant swagger of a council woman walking in late to a meeting on DOB where I talked about too many construction workers dieing and Christine Quinn was too busy to attend.
They are arrogant and way too spoiled. Politics corrupt and the only way the city of New York can begin to weed out corruption are very public arrests.
For too long they have been acting like organize crime but worse they have been confident they are above the law and so far until now they have been right, they are above the law and they shameful behavior is okay.
As far as denying us a referendum --- it sure feels criminal and looking at all the corruption no wonder they want to stay in office forever. New Yorkers tolerance for corruption is higher than the sky scrapers and they are hoping you are not paying attention.
They also have all their relatives and "partners" involved as well. I am told that Christine Quinn's partner is on the board of an organization she gave a big piece of money to courteousy of New York tax payers and reported in NY Daily News, Quinn has give pork to a developer that turned around and gave her a big campaign contribution and guess what folks -- the developer never got the project off the ground. Are they going to return the money to city hall?
Yes corruption is rife at city hall like a city wide infrastructure break -- sewage pipes from Albany to City Hall but be confident that some people just are not going to be arrested and they have taken advantage of the tax payers and the city and they won't be held accountable and they feel no shame like Charles Rangel having those rent control apartments and one he uses illegally for his office.
We are in a recession and with more and more empty store fronts, higher taxes to come the mass exodus of the middle class continues despite Mike Bloomberg acting like his administration didn't crush the middle class catering to rich greedy ruthless developers, more lay offs and more people asked to take pay cuts who cares that politicians are acting like greedy, ego manaics costing the people of New York and most especially NYC resident from Albany to City Hall -- it stinks and it sure feels criminal.
Handcuffs are the hottest fashion as far as I am concerned from Albany to City Hall.
New York City is broke and the people can't afford to be robbed anymore. Not unless you completely push us all out and the mega rich are the only people left in NYC.
Note: Christine Quinn's name is at the top of the list and we can thank Mike Bloomberg for denying us a referendum and allowing council members like Martinez and many more like him the privilege of voting for us but gee it seems they wanted to stay on to steal more tax payer money and they were hoping you weren't paying any attention and it is EASY to vote for a name your recognize.
Tony Avella is an honest council member. I know that sounds like a contradiction "honest" "council member" but he is and a true fighter for the people. I am voting for Tony Avella, I want him for mayor.
Please note that Arroyo, Stewart, Seabrook and Martinez voted to extend term limits, does that mean we can take their votes back and rescind the term limits deal ordeal?
