They picked up all my YouTubes but highlighted the YouTube thanking Norman Siegel for protecting our rights. I thought we would need our 1st amendment rights protected from the NYPD. Who knew that it would be about protecting us from NYU and The Villager. They did keep out the press but the one long term community member in a wheel chair did eventually get in after repeatedly being turned away as if he was a terrorist until my YouTubing it and posting it from the street, Norman Siegel's powerful negotiating on his and all our behalf and the courageous outcry from the community demanding he be allowed access made the difference. I can't imagine what we would have done if Norman Siegel was not there to witness and step in on behalf of us. Norman Siegel is the public advocate.

If you haven't seen these two YouTubes in a series I filmed live on the street with my Iphone and posted from the street watch these two YouTubes. Norman Siegel talks about the people being turned away and I show you the long term community member in a wheel chair being turned away and interview him. He can barely speak but mouthing one word he tells you he feels "AWFUL" at they way he was treated. He and many others who showed up to attended the Christine Quinn, Kurland, Derr debate were told there was no room but mystically and magically all of Quinn's supporters made it to the front of the line.

side note on comments

I don't allow comments on my blogs. The time and energy to mediate is just too much and now YouTube -- it is just exhausting but worse are two categories -- one is stupid or willfully obtuse and two is just cyber stalkers.

This morning I had such a stupid comment on YouTube I just deleted it.

The good souls I have met on the internet outweigh any negative. I just wonder if some of these people are seeking professional help, an education or a nearby emergency room...?

Google apologized although I still find this entire episode traumatizing and I have my own theory on why I was wrongly banned. Google did look in to my 170 subscribers missing but not resolved the problem. My life is too hectic and I did not give it thought until this morning when I received this email in response to my email attempting to reconnect with a gentleman from Holland who has been a big supporter of my work.

Please note: He served in the military. English is not his first language but his english is better than mine and he doesn't have the computer access that many of us have here and take for granted.

Good. Let the woman speak. She violated NO youtube rules and was taken down due to pressure from Team Bloomberg in some way, shape or form. Kudos to Norman Siegal (ACLU) or helping her out, too.

Never forget that we are knee deep in corporate interests on the internet. It's not some egalitarian playground. Assuring net neutrality is just the tip of the iceberg for keeping free speech alive on the internet.

Mike's over paid campaign manager, staff and advertisers were worried they would have the biggest embarrassment on their resume but even if Mike Bloomberg wins it will still be an embarrassment because Mike will have spent a record amount of money to win with the least votes possible. If he wanted the estimated 100 million he is to spend to help the people he should have thrown the money out on the streets for the people to scoop up rather than shove it in the pockets of campaigner staff, advertisers and special interest groups. I told Mom I went to see the Coen's brother's new movie

I am the product of the National Bureau of Economic Research on Madison Avenue because that is where my parents met.

Mom was going to City College and she was intern at the NBER. She got a full scholarship for her Masters degree in Economics at the University of Minnesota. She took Prof. Coen's class and she never mailed in her final exam. She laughed telling me this. She left graduate school to live the married life in the Bronx with Dad and finished getting her Master's in Economics from Rutgers when I was teenager.

Mom always tells the story of how Prof. Coen gave her a camera to deliver to his Dad in New York and that must been the Coen brothers grandfather.

Sorry Coen brothers but I didn't like the film although I laughed really hard a couple of times. So glad my Mom isn't the college kid in film that gave the professor a hard time!

I filmed what a crime scene in the West Village also a hate crime I believe and I have never heard any follow up news. Did the victim come out of the coma the doctors put him in to help heal his head injury and did the NYPD catch the criminals? There are links to the story when it broke but no follow up on it that I have heard.

I have run two NYC marathons, '91 and '92 but I do not run anymore. My knees are shot.

I made a t shirt with Anne Frank's picture and names of friends that had died including Mr. Al who used to live on East 1oth Street by Tompkins Square Park. Before he died a long time ago, I would walk his big red doberman when I could find time. Running the marathon was great. You have the most diverse group of people -- millions -- cheering you on. The 2nd time I started to fast so it was painful but I refused to quit and finished. Getting a massage immediately after makes all the difference.

NYU is an evil real estate magnate that seems to use the students as an excuse to hide behind higher educations for one mega sized tax shelter as they massively buy up and displace our community...make it over in to a soulless college campus with banks in the base of every dorm and buildings that now resemble dorms.

I say a four legged friend of mine Cookie and her two legged companion were hanging with a tall gentleman. They asked me if I had The New York Times and I said I threw it away except for this one page with the drawing of Mike Bloomberg which I happen to like. The other two legger happen to be the man that drew the art.

He told me that Bloomberg's daughter had actually purchased a humorous illustration he had drawn of City Hall.

What a fun meeting although usually I prefer the four legged dogs to two leggers -- both these guys where quite fun and than another gentleman joined us from one of the two newspapers I buy everyday!

Marlene, not the mayor behind bars! Mike Bloomberg NO third term Lower East Side, is that the mayor behind bars?

For one brief moment you see Marlene who I refer to as a beautiful soul in this YouTube where I ask is that Mike Bloomberg behind bars when I see my poster in the window behind the security gate. Marlene is in her mid-fities -- small, sturdy and African American. When she isn't sober look out and I am sad to say she is behind bars yet again.

Because of the creepy men that sometimes exploit her maybe it is better for her. No more blog posting by Bob Arihood for now including a topless photo that the majority of the community felt was deeply exploitive along with misogynist comments.

When I filmed her that cold day she told me she had to stay away from Tompkins but sadly she couldn't seem to stay away from the park or break free from the viscous cycle. I just hope she gets in rehab and finds sobriety so the sweet good soul that is Marlene can come out. Her critics are not half as nice as she is sober and drunk much worse. They just have homes to go to which unfortunately most of her adult life Marlene seems not to have that luxury. Marlene is fluent in Spanish and although on Arihood's blog misogynists would disparage her -- her intelligence, she has more going for her than her anonymous critics including a beautiful soul which you catch just a glimpse of in the brief moment you see her bundled up in this YouTube. FYI: The mayor, Mike Bloomberg and John Whitehead ex-chairman of Goldman Sachs made sure the largest loss of rescue workers in our city, state and nation's history do not have their rank on the memorial. They were concerned that this would somehow make them special. Mike and John are treated special 24/7. Hey Mike and John, I have news for you-- they are special--they ran down there as most people were running in the opposite direction. They died in record number. Isn't it even more ironic that Mike Bloomberg denies the simple respect due--their rank when Mike wants us to extend term limits just for him because he is so special.

ps Mind blowing this fireman I knew came home from Viet Nam only to be treated badly and than years later dies downtown heroically only to be erased all these years at the site where he did not hesitate to save lives. I never understood why the mayor did not have the name and rank of all the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD, EMS and every rescue worker....as well as honoring heroic civilians at the site always. They did not hesitate for a moment to sacrifice their lives in the line of duty. Millions of people around the world visit the site each year but there is not place to stand there and honor the largest loss of rescue workers in our city, state and nation's history. It was the largest loss in the FDNY, NYPD, PAPD and EMS's history but the heroic loss is invisible because the mayor doesn't want to make them special.

We all remembered seeing them running down there and the images were seen over and over on TV and Internet over and over but to go down there it was erased at the site. It is bizarre that Mike is where he is because of meritocracy but when it comes to death down at the WTC it is suddenly about egalitarianism.
