Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Jonathan Willner is asking for you to take action now as gay right activists hold a hunger fast until all people have equality including the LGBT
To Sen. Gillibrand and Staffers,
When I spoke to you, Senator, at your Grand Army Plaza campaign stop, you told me that you have to win the election first before you can take any steps for gay rights.
Well, now you've won. The political tide in this country has shifted to the right. There is no time like the present to put your words into action and keep your promise. My friend Alan is fasting. Across this nation gay and transgender people are losing their jobs, being refused apartments, denied service in public establishments and losing custody of their children just for being themselves. Gay and transgender children and teens are bullied and abused, denied an education and kicked out of their own homes. Some of them will commit suicide. We cannot wait another day to provide full and equal civil rights to ALL Americans and protect our children from the life-threatening danger of anti-gay bigotry.
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!!
We are counting on you to do what you know is right.

Hello Jon, Ross and Sarah,
36 days holding vigil for our civil rights: No response. Day 2 of the civil rights water-only fast: No response.
I'm told that you three hold the key to the Gillibrand door. With that said, as you read this, I ask that you read this as a brother, father, uncle, sister, aunt and a mother: family.
Last night at Senator Gilliabrand's victory party at the Sheraton she said with fervor, "...I will fight for your families as hard as I fight for my own."
This is what I'm doing right now. My brother is dying. Everyday that goes by that she doesn't file the American Equality Bill or similar legislation, write a letter of intent or make a public statement, my brother is closer to death. This is in her hands now. She must act. His life is her responsibility. After reading this it is your responsibility too.
It takes a village, a community of human beings, to fight for each other. I have committed to do so. Will you? Your brother needs you right now. Help him. Please.
Please make sure she reads this and watches the attached video from Day 1 of the fast: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szjCf4tZB4k andhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlqr67XSkuQ , http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=squ_jO2RM68 And please watch it as well.
Get her the message that we want and need full, federal civil rights now! Get her to file that bill!
Today is Day 2. I don't want him to hunger for food or equality another day. Please don't let him die.
Thank you and peace be with you,
Iana
