Protest Bloomberg's secretive pick for School Chancellor Cathie Black today outside David Steiner's home!
Please join a multitude of concerned New Yorkers, including me, TODAY (Mon, 11/22) to protest the nomination by Mayor Bloomberg of Ms. Cathleen Black for Chancellor of the New York City schools.
Time: 3:45 PM. Feel free to bring your children ... this is a teachable moment!
Location: Outside the Upper East Side home of NYS Education Commissioner David Steiner
200 East 87th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues, Manhattan
(Take the 4, 5 or 6 to 86th Street & Lexington Avenue)
Purpose: Deliver more than 12,000 signatures and thousands of additional comments from parents and other New Yorkers. Let the decisionmakers -- many of whom are Bloomberg's cronies -- know that we will not tolerate a Chancellor with no background in education.
The State Education Commissioner's advisory panel is meeting this Tuesday to consider the matter. Share your thoughts with the Chair, Susan Fuhrman (President of Teacher's College), by sending an email to: SusanF@tc.columbia.edu

Do you think that Governor-elect Cuomo and Governor Paterson should tell Education Commissioner Steiner to deny the waiver?
Thank you for taking the time to read this message and I hope to see you Monday afternoon!
Sincerely,
Chris Owens
