Switched from Time Warner to Verizon, things I learned including someone was trying to hack my computer, hey isn't that like robbery?
More than anything I wanted to break free of Time Warner. It wasn't just that the remote was hard to navigate and problems with service from time to time but my growing dissapointed with NY1. I called them constantly when we were having manhole covers exploding and sinkholes galore. In fact there is a story about the streets caving in so to speak in the neighborhood but would I call NY1 now...NO. They are not interested in reporting the news. It will take a death to get them back to the East Village/Lower East Side to tell the story of an infrastructure that is shot to hell and the one story they did cover with me being interviewed -- surprise -- that location, two plus years later is still shot to hell. http://suzannahbtroy.blogspot.com/2009/08/httpwww.html
NY1 can't be bothered and this is not the only issue when it comes to coverage of what is really doing down and NY1 is not alone. It will take deaths and major scandals will lots of collateral damage for the news to be reported. Just like we the people can't seem to get any information on the on going investigation of city council members and maybe that is because I sent an email to the press and activist lawyers demanding City Council votes on extending term limits be thrown out.
You can chose not to tell the news and we the people can chose to not tune in or purchase your newspaper. If there is a free New York Times around will I look? Yes. Will I go to NY1's website? Yes from time to time.
Back to the theme.
Switching from Time Warner to Verizon.
I have an Apple computer -- it was hell.
I felt stuck between two corporations and both telling me it was up to the other to resolve the problem. It took way too much of my time days and nights including having a guy here from 9-6 drilling and more -- a pain and I even called Time Warner to talk about returning to them but I am not.
One small tip for Apple users -- check your soft ware updates -- there is a new update for Airport. I had a series of weird problems that did not make sense. Apple is a mega island on to itself. Apple has radically changed my life for the better in the year and half I have gone Apple.
What is great about Apple and how Apple has improved my life and educated me, makes me cry with joy. What is bad about Apple makes me want to cry.
Despite the down side of Apple, Apple is the best and has radically improved my life. They are amazing educators. Mainstream schools couldn't teach me but my learning curve with them because they can work with you and how you learn has improved dramatically.
I am sticking with Apple and I am going to attempt to stick with Verizon.
The tv picture is stunning, crystal clear and almost like it is 3D.
The phone system to call in and get help is worse than Time Warners.
I got lost between the cracks in the abyss between Apple and Verizon.
I did learn some things from Verizon tech support about the computer including that someone had tried repeatedly to gain access to my computer but Verizon's security worked successfully to keep them out.
Each attempt showed up. Nice.
I did consider having no TV for about 5 seconds because dealing with Time Warner and Verizon is hellish. Verizon was far worse in term of wasting enormous amounts of my time. Verizon sucked days and nights out of my life which I can't bill them for but that is true of many corporations and people I know.
Verizon TV is a new experience because I have never seen TV so crisp, intense and dimensional but I am not confident it is going to work. I have 14 days to cancel and return to Time Warner.
I hope to stay with Verizon but that means I hope there are no more problems and I have to call them. The only thing worse is Verizon's website which is also hellish to navigate around.
Funny Verizon makes Time Warner's customer service look a lot better but the TV picture by Verizon is much better. Wish there were more choices for TV and internet.
