Fatigue extreme, my cat is improving
Sunday afternoon I took my cat to the emergency room because of breathing problems and discharge from her one eye, she only has one, and her nose. She was dehydrated and they put her on an IV.
I was suppose to start her on antibiotics but two nights in a row with little sleep made me way too exhausted to attempt give her pills twice a day.
I made an appointment with Dr. Carrie White yesterday to save me emergency room fees and she and her staff did more intensive blood work.
Dr. White knows I am so depleted she urged me to take care of myself first and keep her posted on my cats health. Yes she is still discharging but she has begun to drink water and eat again which is a relief. I believe all the unwanted construction I have to deal with -- part of the new hideous Bloomberg tsunami of community crushing development was just too much for all of us and dust from construction got in her nasal passages.
She is older and has severe arthritis and had her eye removed last year. She had glaucoma which remained untreated until I adopted her at age 10. Her owners had to leave the city as so many people have under Bloomberg and she was left out on the street.
I love her very much. Dr. White told me she has a broken tooth and I hope in Sept. to take her in for dentistry and gum care if I can.
Dr. White and her staff were wonderful and are being very supportive helping me care of my cat.
