put on a dress, accidental seating leads to another person telling me run for mayor!
I was a tomboy, the term is not used anymore...in the old days you had to wear skirts, I remember wearing a bright red mini skirt playing football with the boys, must have been 3rd 0r 4th grade and someone had run in and told the principal. He came out and told me I could no longer play football with the boys. My face was beet red but not from embarrassment but from playing so hard. Never felt comfortable in a dress. I was a basketball star in high school and when a boy would play with me I never thought about romance but about being a better player. The last time I played full court was in a court in Central Park and the guy I was covering was so upset...he went on and on until I hugged him and than somehow everything was okay!
Back to the present and me in dress. I am not social so I didn't talk and was looking at photos when a gentleman to the right started to converse like normal people do. I showed him a historic building from the Lower East Side I was concerned for and he said, "Why don't you buy it?" I told him about the "old PS 64" experience but in a shorter more colorful way. A while back I looked in to getting backers to buy the old PS 64 building, found them but the condition was it would be a charter school. I told the activist associated with the school it could be done but he must get a charismatic effective leader to set up the charter school. Needless to say it never happened. Side note: the activist lives in a spectacular building that I could only dream of living in. I asked him about buying a place in there and I was too find out not in my price range and activism can pay big time especially when it come to NYC living. Activism has never paid off for me. I told him about the neighborhood and also about why I would never vote for Mike Bloomberg again. I told him about the humorous piece I wrote about running for mayor, how much I want Bloomberg out of office that I find myself wanting to run against him and beat him and me being me, the humor too but also serious actions I would take to return the city to the people. He told me he would support my run. He wasn't joking. Wow. I get youtube-mail saying run for mayor but this was the first person who was serious when he used the word support. He saw in to my soul with regard to my ideas (he thought the community outreach resource centers in every dorm was a great idea and suggested how I might get all the DOB & ECB fines paid and his idea was so much better than throwing them in jail, terrific idea) he got my passion but he also got "the Suebism" of not going for it. Still really truly mind blowing. I can't seem to have a boring life even if I tried. Still shaking my head.
ps We also talked about The New York Times, it's immediate future and the possibility of new ownership. We talked about what we thought the paper could be "if". I brought up Ben Franklin's older brother who ran one of the first independent papers and Ben wanted to be published so badly he wrote pieces under the name of a woman and submitted the pieces by sliding them under the door. He had a very successful column with out his brother finding out his true identity but the Franklin brothers were key when it came to our Country having a voice and in fact his brother was so successful, the powers that be shut him down, but just for a short while as I recall. I am very tired but again I had to shake my head because of my bizarre life I have spoken with perhaps some of the richest, poorest and middle class and all feel the same....the news papers and media are not reporting the news and we are longing for a paper that is cutting edge and bold. For now it has inspired the birth of blogging as an alternative and now youtube so we can avoid the networks completely.
I think of Ben Franklin and his drive as a teenager, almost like an indentured servant but the official term was apprentice to his brother James but he got free from his brother...as usual using his ingenuity,
no hurdle would stop him -- his creativity and drive just to be published to reach people and he started very successfully as a woman!
Why so testy Mike? He acts like he is the little emperor of NYC.
+ special FYI: often when I am writing I am on the go under the gun -- in this case I had my Mom (I affectionately call Attila the Mum) so yeah, I could have done a better job...
http://www.nypost.com/seven/05302009/postopinion/opedcolumnists/testy_mikes_questionable_behavior_171639.htmAzi Paybarah had an important question was important because if NYC's economy is showing signs of life
than yes, it does in fact undermine King Mike's rationale for changing term limits unless you are among the
elite that ran down to testify that Mike Bloomberg must stay in office like the president of NYU, John Sexton did,
because the next mayor is not going to let NYU crush our community like the Bloomberg administration did.
If Paybarah had given Bloomberg the menacing glare that Bloomberg did give him as well as berating him, Paybarah would
have next had quality time with the NYPD. The bottom line is Azi Paybarah understands something King Mike doesn't and that is democracy.
The "term limits" deal, denying the voters a referendum and allowing City Council to vote which was in my opinion a blatant conflict of interest is
just more proof Mike doesn't understand the meaning of democracy and his behavior of Paybarah was the role of the little emperor of NYC.

I got special permission to post these turtles from a 84 years young "guy"
As we spoke people came up and asked to photograph him or be photographed with him. He said fine as long as you don't put the photos on the world wide web but are conversation was so fascinating and I told him I want to write about him so he gave me special permission.
No name. Should I say gentleman? No, just a guy, okay, and the conversation took so many fascinating turns like his many storied colorfully tattooed body that I will only tell you small parts like the 2 photos. I photographed his turtles, part of his living tapestry and told me their names. I told him turtles symbolize Mother Earth.
He looks much younger than his age and also moves like a much younger person. It is hard to believe he is 84 years old. Like my Dad he served in World War 2. He said the GI Bill was the best thing that happen to him. I showed him my Bloomberg poster and he agreed with the Latin on the poster "Beware princes with power". We did talk about term limits and I am for them and he is against them but we agreed about corruption.
He was going to buy some oranges I think and the price had gone up so he was going to a certain place with a slightly better deal. He jokingly said he has Scotch in him but he said truly he lived thru the depression and never forgot it which is why if he even sees a penny on the street he picks it up.
I couldn't get over how young he seemed and he said it is because of "morale". He says everyone need to have their morale boosted (I don't think he used the word boosted) and that each person needs something to live for. When your morale is "up" you look and feel better.
He speaks french beautifully and even lived in France and he told me how beautiful French women are but it because the essence. He described it in french but my brain is so tired I can't remember the words. French women are not prettier but they look it because they have the chutzpah to believe it!

Don't pull up to my bumper baby! Suzannah B. Troy with her NO Bloomberg bumper sticker!!!!!
Rivington Street and you can tell I don't own a car! I wanted to put the bumper sticker somewhere!!!! As usual I did illicit some laughter and smiles. More and more I think I should do stand up comedy.

ps I get a lot of fan mail, this one I had to post, the director's email was so sweet I posted here, more today because Mike got so much bad press berating Azi Paybarah and it went national!
Sotomayor not a radical, I just don't agree with her rulings.
http://www.nydailynews.com/opinions/2009/05/28/2009-05-28_those_labeling_sotomayor_a_radical_dont_know_her_at_all.html
I read Robert Morgenthau's piece (and by the way radical isn't the concern) and Juan Gonzalez's and I understand how much pride Juan takes in her because of her heritage but I have one problem, I just don't agree wit many of her rulings like the one with the fireman. One person said reversed discrimination but I just prefer the term discrimination.
I do feel I have to deal with a lot of double standards, blame, crap because I am a woman but if anyone dared offered me a job in front of someone more qualified for the job because I was a woman I would say no thank you.
The piece on her and a ruling she made on a young woman's blog seems to me as if she violated her freedom of speech and as a blogger it is disturbing.
It is nice to see so many people celebrating including her mother and I am sure she is a very nice person. I just do not agree on her stances although she is not even clear where she stands on "choice" and I can't believe President Obama did not discuss is she pro or against before appointing her.
off duty NYPD officer shot, dies, heartbreaking tragedy
Very sad story, heartbreaking.
Please note that I sent this in to a tv show that takes peoples emails and even if they don't read them they post them and to date the show has always posted my comments until this one so here it is.
First condolences to this brave officer's officer family, all loved ones & NYPD.
There are aprox. 35,000 NYPD officers policing over 8 million people so yes I want the NYPD to always examine how they can improve and I want reform but I don't agree this was an issue of race. It is a dangerous job and the officers that work out on the street are among the bravest people on the planet. This was a tragic mistake, an accident and yes I want the dept. to look at every situation and determine how to not have a tragedy like this happen.
My heart also goes out to the officer that made a mistake. NYPD officers are like MD's, if they make a mistake someone could die.
The NYPD has their critics but I never met a critic willing to walk in their shoes especially at night in the most dangerous areas of NYC.
Thank you.

+ I really don't know what they did it so I wrote them this email this morning.
If you did it for my safety thank you. My safety is a big concern.
When you go to the Sept. 11 Museum and when it finally opens and you see my jacket with patches and pins honoring the rescue workers including the NYPD
you can say -- hey I DENIED HER HER FREEDOM OF SPEECH.
That is why many people are turning away from mainstream media -- tuning out, turning the channel or the off switch completely.
Thank you,

Ultimately what is heart breaking is a man devoted to his family and the NYPD died and he leaves behind a family he clearly loved deeply which is easy to tell from the photos I looked at today in The New York Post and my heart felt feelings are for all involved. I know it is hard for critics to believe but sometimes horror events happen and there really are no agendas let us say like Sept. 11.
Mayor insults reporter & the people of NYC again, he has aide call to apologize. Mike Bloomberg is the disgrace! The reporter is a hero!

To have an aide call and apologize to Azi Paybarah is cowardly and proves Mike thinks he is an emperor not a mayor of the people of NYC!!!! Vote this guy out office!!!!! Azi's courage is what this city is about and let's reclaim democracy and NYC!!!!!!!!!!!
NY daily news poll Azi has a higher rating than the mayor will ever have running for a third term.

Suzannah B. Troy back to life! Thoughts on being mayor, breast feeding, city gov. etc.
I went to see an endocrinologist because I thought my adrenals were shot. She said I am fine. I just went thru a series of traumas so my body is freaked out from all the traumas and dramas but what was so funny is I told her although I am almost 47, I still have these baby cravings. She urged me to make that my priority and have a baby asap! She told me there are donors and I told her I do not need donors, I have volunteers! I am not rushing to have a baby which is obvious but have you ever seen so many babies in your life here in NYC? NYC has the most beautiful babies, every color, background and variation there of.
Anyway I felt like I was dieing but this doctor, she is from Lebanon convinced me I am very much alive!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish I could run for mayor, beat Mike Bloomberg and be the first NYC mayor to breast feed on the job and stamp out all the corruption including politicians and employees that use the city like a big sugar daddy or should I say milk the tax payers, very uncool!!!!!!
Also I want to put a cap on not for profits like NYU acting like a monopoly like a massive modern anti-trust violation and these shocking loss, oops, law suits asking for mega millions -- hello you want the people of New York to pay even higher taxes -- do these people not get when you ask NYC to pay out mega millions it is us the people of New York that pay, hello? The newest one is the guy that wants to sue the city for $220 million dollars and The New York Post ran a piece that interviewed the mother of a victim who was gang beaten by this guy that wants to sue the city for $220 million. I don't know the facts and who is guilty but this guy sounds like a low life that wants to abuse the people of New York with an outrageous sum of money. Last year I sat down with David Rankin and discussed sueing several parties believe I understand the impulse to sue but $220 million just feels criminal to me.
I would really like to help the people of NYC who have taken a clobbering under Bloomberg's tsunami of community crushing development. I always use the metaphor of the "NEW" Yankee Stadium and the fact most New Yorkers can't afford the seats like Mike Bloomberg's new hideous New York...he should be handing out t-shirts that say "I love NYC, I just can't afford it!". The infrastructures are shot, they need to be repaired and a priority rather than speed of greed reckless development high velocity builds and most of all it would be about returning the city to the people.
I want Mike Bloomberg out and whom ever gets in needs miracles because the city is in awful shape. I wish I could run. I would make sure every DOB & ECB fines that combined I am told are over a quarter of a billion are payed up.
Every supersized student housing would have community outreach resource centers. Yes, I would love to run, beat Mike, be preggers, be the first woman to give birth and breast feed (a lot) while in city hall. I wouldn't mind the really big body guards either.
I am feeling better. I do need to make rest a priority which is hard because this city is so loud, party central. I see an acupuncturist, take vitamins by Super Nutrition simply one for women , a liquid supplement for hair called "Cellfood Essential Silca Formula", and Rhodiola Rosea (wow!) by Gaia Herbs (they are the best company!) but ultimately I need some quiet and peace to find my inner reset button!

Under Bloomberg buildings have vanished, you never know if a building, a store or person will be here because of Bloomberg's tsunami of development
http://www.everystockphoto.com/photo.php?imageId=354726
http://www.panmodern.com/synagoguespace.html
Two different historic synagogues one still stands at least for now and one conveniently collapsed with no one getting hurt allowing the owners to supersize and have the temple in the base of the sky piercing building (this is what I hear on the street); I am guessing will appear at some point down the road.
One of the worst was the convenient 5 alarm fire in Brooklyn on a property owned by a man it is rumored has a history of convenient fires (?) but to date I am not aware that track record has slowed him down but rather he has profited big time. I have made two youtubes recently on DOB and ECB not collecting fines that would bring the city mega millions of dollars and I am told that developers, landlords and contractors are not stopped in their tracks but allowed to continue you on with their wheelings and dealings. My newest youtube talks about the mayor yet again throwing our legislative rights to the wind again and our safety by putting a 30 day limit on complaining to DOB so shady wheelers and dealers another blow to the people of this city and you can continue to know you can get away with anything short of murder because everything has been done to not hold you guys accountable. When people die on your property, construction site than yes you are going to be inconvenienced.
I think of Tina Negron, a compassionate soul
Tina Negron's poem
“I see souls being lost because young brothers and sisters don’t know how to act,”
“I see the whole world coming to an end. I see me dying, but me fighting, on what’s on my mind, is trying to be, and that is really a message to you.”
From all accounts I read she sounded like a beautiful person. I defended her on the nydailynews website. As usual it was blame the victim day. What would such a good person being doing with a bad person. I am sorry to break the news folks but they are not a lot of good guys out there and I am guessing she was a compassionate soul that preferred to see the good in people. Look at statistics here in NY and world wide and I am guessing a lot more females die death by violence than from breast cancer but it just is not addressed like cancer is and globally it could be but for some reason (I have an idea why) celebrities don't have their chic fund raisers to say stop the violence and raise consciousness. Could you imagine fund raisers on all local tv stations around the world with celebrities (sad to say we need them to get attention) raising awareness what are the warning signs, organizations that can help be support systems. etc. ?
Domestic violence is a key issue because of the other victims which can be children and extended family members witnessing on going verbal abuse, blaming of the victims etc but there are bigger pieces to this disturbing puzzle involving cultures and societies that seem to encourage it. I remember a long time ago being forced to listen to that heinous rap song that celebrated Ike beating Tina on the Path train. I was stunned to hear a song on the radio by a rap artist berating the community for calling the police on him when he sold drugs. I remember visiting a friend on Ludlow Street maybe 18? years ago and having to walk past the drug dealers in the hall way. It seems drugs and violence towards women, violence period go hand and hand. It is a bigger issues with female infants being murdered in some countries around the globe so it is a bigger global issue that needs to be addressed on many levels.

Also the laws have to change because even if you can get the police involved it doesn't seem to stop the violence. A piece of paper isn't going to protect you from someone obsessed.
It starts with words, verbal violence, intimidation, blame the victim and escalates and you don't have to be an intimate partner to be a victim. How does this happen? There are red lights and they tend to be ignored and or rationalized away.
I think of corruption. NYC's tolerance for corruption is higher than the city's skyscrapers, same for this treatment and believe me women can join in and participate. Just talking in general terms. I did lots of piece on this blog about Tina Negron.
I wrote a lot of pieces and you can find them on this blog...here is one.

This is a youtube from the NYPD on domestic violence and it is very good. The problem is bigger than than the police and it is broader than domestic violence including violence towards females of any and all ages and it means changing consciousness world wide and changing laws as well. I am glad the NYPD is now on youtube.

When there is police activity people want to know what happened.
For instance did the NYPD catch this guys associates?
I wish you could go to NYPD's website and get information on crime. I am not talking about statistics but actual information.

Smiling really post-traumatic stressing, sleep deprived, NYC living more like the unliving/ NYPost The Natives are 'hostel'
Just wiped out, woke up at 3am and could not get back to sleep. Rather than give you details let us say, I am post-traumatic stressing. Trying to smile, attitude of gratitude. Find my inner delete button for the upsetting stuff. Focus on the happy. My acupuncturist says rest is key...no. 1 priority. NYC living is not conducive to rest. Wanting to be home and have some peace in quiet is like saying you want to be a mass murderer. Most people just want to turn up the volume and are not capable of empathy. I love NYC but it is rough in a lotta ways...
I am still waiting for the 9th Precinct to ticket and tow that space ship!
The hideous ugly Cooper Union "studio" building next door looks like a fractured aquarium and belongs on the set in for Hollywood "B" sci-fi horror movie!
Besides the mayor turning our neighborhood in to a bad xerox of mid-town & dubai and party central for 5 campuses that have parked mega dorms there, the only thing Mike Bloomberg, Amanda Burden, John Sexton of NYU and other greedy community crushing developers have not done is provide buses and trains to move us out. It is clear Mike's goal is to make the Lower East Side look like Wall Street with a few token historic buildings. Cooper Union's land leased property, the sky piercing mirrored half empty condos by Astor Place says it all--the sky piercing building reflects a history destroyed and a community no longer welcome. You love NYC, you will have to visit a recreation in Las Vegas or a museum thanks to Mike Bloomberg & socialite mega millonaire city planner Amanda Burden helping out their developer buddies to crush our communities and flash NEON "not welcome" signs in their soulless glass, smoke and mirror zone busting structures.
breathe in breathe out focus on the positive.
Bravo for The New York post covering this story - see link below! City wide problem and just like the Wall St. collapse, this insane tsunami of community crushing development thanks to Mike Bloomberg, mr. pro nightlife turning every neighborhood in to a bad xerox of midtown and Dubai.
Too many peoples' "me monsters" are bringing down our city, another reason to vote Mike Bloomberg out of office.

NYU the evil empire of the East Village, the purple reign of terror, a message to all NY Law, Cooper Union, SVA, The New School
Above the tear down of St. Ann's Church from 1847 that survived everything about NYU's need and greed to build yet another mega dorm. Please visit 120 East 12th Street and see this horror show! You are visiting a crime scene. I will always remember the parishioners crying and praying in the street after being turned out and than 7 day a week construction noise and madness starting at 6am with a coffee clutch of construction workers under my windows that sounded an open bar to 9PM and the shady air sale deal by the USPS who in my opinion broke the law like they did every day blocking the fire hydrant outside my home, now ex-home of the last 20 years, the USPS felt hey we don't have to notify the State of New York but YES you do when selling air space over a historical site even though St. Ann's was not landmark protected so the State can come in and investigate environmental concerns, infrastructure, is this in the best interest of the community. Postal workers mockingly told me let the NYPD ticket and tow us, ha ha ha and clearly that is the same attitude of those that brokered the air sale to NYU and as usual it gets down to the" speed of greed".
Just as I said at the Whole Earth Bakery & Kitchen rally so long ago in Tompkins Square Park and remember The Villager as told to me my Lincoln Anderson via an email he fowarded me from the reporter with an agenda for his pals...stated "who does she think she is? Is she running for office? She did not say anything different.
I was the only one who honored Filomena Silvestri's memory and I stated she died at age 94 knowing she and her son's business was not evicted and thrown out on the street and I thanked the community.
I also asked for community outreach resource centers in every mega dorm in the East Village. NYU mega dormed the East Village to death...the purple reign of terror. Cooper Union, The New School, NY Law and SVA all jumped on the mega dorm the neighborhood to death band wagon so I want them to open their front doors and hopefully in a store front have community outreach resource centers with free computers a table to ask for volunteers, a place for seniors and homeless people to sit other than McDonalds, and students would know when they walk in to their homes that people and small businesses are struggling and hopefully get involved in helping.
I confronted Mike Bloomberg on the John Gambling show about this which was quiet satisfying since I was completely erased and deleted by The Villager and how important was what I had to say and could you imagine if papers had published what I said and more pressure was put on these institutions of higher ed that use their not for profit status for land grabs to supersize and displace the community, NYU being the no. 1 offender! At least I am digitally archived as well as writing about on any blog I could fine. I like to tell people if and when it happens who will be patting themselves on the back for my idea. I also met with Alicia Hurley and gang to discuss it way back when as well. So far ZERO!!!!!!
Link to hear me confront Mayor Bloomberg on the John Gambling show about the tsunami of community crushing development and the need for community outreach resource centers in every mega dorm in the East Village.

Mayor Mike and John Gambling
You can search on this on this blog and yes, I emailed The White House and asked President Obama to pressure NYU and gang to do the right thing for once rather than just crush our communities and displace us.
Marty Scorsese's new HBO set "Boardwalk Empire" being built in Brooklyn, yo if you use a better camera & copy me, credit me!
Yo, I used my iphone, sadly iphone's have no zoom and I should not have to say this but if you figure out where this is, run there and photograph with your bigger better camera because you saw on it Suzannah B. Troy's blog, you heard about it from me, than duh, you credit my blog. Sad I should have to say that. To see it better, click on the photo.

Casting call for extras:
Mike Bloomberg is rushing a big tax break bill to Albany so we can have more tv and movies filmed here and I say HEY WHERE IS THE TRICKLE DOWN? Employee as many homeless, needy down and out people rather than turn them out of our parks or public spaces. If you park in front of a struggling small business buy everything you can in their store and help help help -- most people the film businesses inconveniences with constant filming in our neighbhorhoods are struggling and don't have the benefits, vacations, etc. Just like every Mike, it has been over the top difficult for regular people. I don't believe the struggling people of NY are feeling the trickle down. If the community board gets a donation than a complete accounting of the donation and how every penny is spent most be on the community board's website. (If you don't know what a community board is I can tell you it is the most democratic part of city government with people representing you that you did not vote for and sadly most people do not know when and where they meet or they have written them off because they don't feel they represent the community.)
ps Deep down I must want to be a stand up comic. I made New York's Finest laugh today.
I asked them where a certain street was and one young officer pulled out a gadget to look the street up. I confessed I had an iphone and I could do the same thing. I didn't tell them what a pain it would be! His partner told me he wants to get an iphone. I made a face and said the iphone is like high maintenance boyfriends, a lot of work! He said you must be dating the wrong guys. I asked them, really do you think there is anything out there but wrong ones? I mean are there any good ones out there that are single? These young men were convinced there are good ones and they are in the NYPD. I told them I am almost 47 which they didn't believe. Give them a raise! And that I want someone younger, lets say 45, no, 44 to 39, no 37, I just had them laughing. I remained cynical but I appreciated their youthful optimism.
Now a FDNY story, on Lafayette Street, I saw this very concerned young woman attempting to rescue a Dalmatian moseying along the sidewalk unescorted . I walked up to her and pointed to the firehouse. She was so embarrassed. I said don't be. I appreciated her caring and the dog's many owners (big buff firemen) lounging on the front of the fire truck not to far from their mascot out on the sidewalk. The firemen had no idea about 20 feet away a young woman was about to rescue their dog!
I find the streets of New York were more fascinating and entertaining than television any day!

Animal Medical Center, a tour & by the way they want to help Jesse Jane, Jim qualifies for a fund but will I ever get J & J up there?
Because of my blogging I was invited with a other animal lovers, I am talking about 4 legged animals and exotic animals of all kinds that New Yorkers love, up to The Animal Medical Center for lunch and a tour!

Here is there blog and the latest installment is on arthritis and your pets!
Kids stop to chat with Jim the Mosaic Man Power & Jesse Jane looks depressed
I was happy to see Jesse Jane (not the porn star) perk up because mostly she looks like she is sleeping off some big time depressing news. I was afraid she was sick but I bumped in to Lorcan Otway who told me Jim told him he did take Jesse to the vet for her paw and she is okay. It made me sad to see Jim sitting alone in Tompkins on Memorial Day. He did serve our country in Viet Nam and he should be landmark protected for his out door museum aka known as his mosaic trail. That being said he is one big pain in the #&? and has these moods swings where one goes from hero to the anti-christ which made it impossible for me to have contact with him. My hair was falling out of my head and that was just one of the symptoms. NYC living seems to be one trauma after another and I just can't take the Jim drama when I have so much of my own. I do love him and Jesse Jane way more because she is always loving to me and she is a heroic dog. I was happy to seem Jim's spirits looking a little better and sad to see he is homeless yet again. Clayton Patterson and Elsa Rensaa have gone way beyond main stream villagers actually taking him in on so many occasions which is Olympic. Jim can be challenging to say the least and if he isn't loving you than he is blaming you as I know first hand. He really is an amazing artist that deserves way more support than he is getting, more medical attention and who knows some meds?

Water Planes to Hamptons flying tonight, can we charge the rich people more money, raise the price of the toll booth in the sky that isn't
As usual ticketing and anything with transportation hits the middle and lower income, another way Bloomberg raises money for the city and continues to push out people who are struggling including small businesses.
Tonight I just saw a military helicopter chopping the air I am sure because of Memorial Day, my Dad says quietly a special day and than I see a water plane zoom by....as usual the laws are different for the rich, the fly above them....
I wish there was a toll booth in the sky and they were raising the price of that toll big time.
I could imagine Mayor Mike say -- if you do that you are driving away rich spoiled people that need to party in the Hamptons....they won't spend money there if we raise the prices for luxury airplane and helicopter rides to the Hamptons.
Viet Nam War Memorial, WW2, Korean War Memorials, Helen Keller, Holocaust Museum, NYPD Memorial, Battery Park City
Click on the photo above and read what he wrote, extremely moving...
Red, Anyone here who has walked through the Elephant grass should get a purple heart.
This is my favorite letter on the wall. My knees are shot so I can't run anymore but I used to do huge runs down here from the Village and stop and read his letter. Always deeply moved and sad he didn't make it home.
World War 2 Memorials
Korean War Memorial. I and a bunch of American Korean War Vets wrote the parks dept when they planted a circle of trees that would block the very point of the Memorial which is it is a sun dial which lines up with the very day they signed an agreement for Peace. The parks dept thanked us and moved the trees. The soldier forms the empty space which is symbolic of loss, what is not there, of many aspects undefinable.
Helen Keller and as usual very moved because of her homage to NYC, yes I agree except I rarely ever leave and more and more I feel I need to escape, take a break yet I remain.
7 tiers roof top symbolizing 7 million people mass murdered. I think of Mel Gibson who was raised by a Holocaust denier and I say "Mel Gibson" is Yiddish for anti-semite.
NYPD Memorial with large group of people paying their respects.
I only have my inexpensive cameras on me so I didn't do justice to the Statue of Liberty.
Battery Park City urban beach, grass instead of sand and lots of bathing suits, one or two magnificent bodies.
