Alan Bounville where are you? Will the people following your story hear news tomorrow re: Alan's hunger strike calling for Senator Gillibrand to put forth a bill for civil rights for all, national gay rights bill? by Suzannah B. Troy a straight woman who has been gay bashed on the streets of NYC

I am not gay.  I have never met Alan Bounville.  He was pointed out to me along with other activists at the protest to demand a hospital where St. Vincent's once was.

Alan Bounville and Iana  Di Bona where praised in Interview Magazine as leading gay activism in the country.




Surprisingly there are some voices in the gay community chastising, mocking and deriding their activism.

It is fine to disagree but to mock him and put him down....?


How far is too far?  Is this suicide when Gillibrand won't even meet with Alan for even 5 minutes -- at least so far and she has many opportunities since there is video documentation of them going to her offices over and over?  Alan and Iana held a vigil outside senator Kirsten Gillibrand's office.   I just don't get it?  Why would she not meet with Alan and Iana even for 5 minutes?



Some say the political machine  wants to control this and Alan Bounville has infuriated their goal to make this happen when.   How dare he.   They have insulted and mocked him, called him every insult under the book.  That is just what I have heard....

I have heard Alan and Iana have taken down their facebook page.  Why is that do you think?


I am not suggesting that Alan is Gandhi but I do recommend renting the DVD.   Perhaps his critics are right or is it that they people lashing out at him are raging against him because he has usurped them or worse made them feel very angry perhaps at themselves for what they have not done?  I am not encouraging anyone to go on a political hunger strike, you don't have to agree but there are people that doe admire Alan and Iana's dedication to put action first and foremost rather than just talk.

I don't know.  I am straight but I have been gay bashed out on the streets, stalked by a sicko with a camera that shot me from the back and thank goodness it wasn't a gun to do a pink posting on me as in the pink triangles in the Nazi Concentration camps and his friends gay bashed me.

I have been waiting for a call back from the NYPD re: a gay man that was attacked getting in to a taxi cab  two blocks from where  St. Vincent's was when the hospital was still open.   The NYPD for some reason won't call me back and give me follow up information about his life.  When attacked his head took a beating in the attack perhaps even from the fall and to save his life the medical doctors at St. Vincent's had to put him in to a coma.

There is no St. Vincent's anymore so if this happenws today in the West Village where it did, just a few blocks from St. Vincent's I don't know that this man would have survived.   The NYPD won't call me back with this information....I want to know what happened in this case and how is this man doing.  I guess only people in the political machine get called back by the NYPD?  FYI:  Sometimes the NYPD has called me back.


No one wants Alan to die.  It is shocking to me that Gillibrand has not met with him for 5 minutes but maybe she will this week.   Maybe she won't because the political machine doesn't want this to happen until it serves their purpose.


For me -- please don't tell me you love me and disparage but that is just me.

What if Alan died?  That would be tragic and heart breaking and to know he has been mocked, derided and put down when he believed so strongly in the equal rights; it's not like people derided Gandi or did they?   It is just shocking the lack of compassion and the attacks upon Alan Bounville.

Why hasn't senator Gillibrand given him 5 minutes of her time?

I don't know what Alan Bounville and Iana Di Bona are up to or are thinking but maybe they are putting themselves in the front line because they want equal rights and moving towards equal rights for gay people  in our Country can begin to put an end to violence towards gays like the violent murder of a straight man mistaken for gay Sucuzhanay, 31, and his younger brother Romel were drunk and holding onto each ...   


Reminder: In one of the trials the jurors refused to consider this a hate crime...but in NY we have had jurors that let rapists go as well so I can't be shocked, just disgusted.


People are dying violent deaths being brutally murdered for being gay or thought gay, gay teens have been killing themselves and some because they were taunted so it is shocking to me to get reports that some in the gay community are mocking and deriding Alan.  You would think even if people did not agree they might admire his conviction?


Alan and Iana:  I don't know where you are right now but if more people took action we would have equal rights and something more.... Alan stay alive!!!!


I don't want him to die a violent death, a death that was entered in to on words of derision, I want Alan to live and he has lived a lot longer than gay teens that have killed themselves and some gay people beaten to death, murdered and tortured for being gay or being assumed gay.


I am one of many waiting to hear where is Alan Bounville and  Iana Di Bona  and how are they as they fight front line for equal rights on a National level for gay rights here in the USA.
