Rest -- not
First thanks to all the people that write me about my health. I just got very touching emails from someone who found my blog and contacted me yesterday and he expressed several kind thoughts to me and one was concern for my health. Very touching....
I used to be vegetarian (ran my marathons as a vegetarian) and I long to return to being a veg only eater. When I started donating gallons of my platelets and two white blood cell donations as well as occasionally whole blood which is the shortest and easiest I start to not be a vegetarian to make sure I passed the iron test which even than sometimes I did not.
Well my primary care MD and my acupuncturist have said not more blood donations and in fact to chill on giving period. I am told I have to rest and I find rest in NYC one of the hardest endeavors. I was talking to someone not in NY yesterday and he could not get over the noise pollution including loud sirens blasting in the back round.
I got matzoh ball soup from Whole Foods and it was not as good as Mom's and also had a lot of pepper and as you know I have acid reflux so that may be one reason it feels like a 3rd degree burn in the back of my throat. I also have a major cold so today is an official rest day. The papers have not loaded their sites with new news but I am sure it is the usuals on corruption in NY politics, horrifying cuts with implications that have not set in and the irony is Hollywood wants to raise movie prices not slash them which shows you how out of touch LaLa land is because here in NYC that just means more people won't be going.
The harsh cuts won't affect the rich entertainers or steroid popping athletes that lie to the public like their many girlfriends. I can't understand why Mike Bloomberg, the great businessman could not do more to prevent these horrible cuts including to the NYPD which means more crime on the streets to the school system and also how Bloomberg burdened the middle class and drove them out like no other despot even mean old Rudy and more is to come. Someone do the stats on that. How many people left NY under Mike Bloomberg's 1st ,2nd, and 3rd term but be comforted at least NYU, Cooper Union and Columbia U. - Columbia displaced the entire neighborhood of Manhattanville and continue on expanding using higher ed like a tax shelter to gobble up NYC.
Be comforted the most obscenely paid athletes the Yankees (and I am Yankee Fan but Thurmond Munson and Babe Ruth are my favorites) are paying in a new stadium highly funded by tax payer money and most tax payers can't afford it but at least A-Roid's newest girlfriends will have free seats. Maybe he has several attend the same game? I remember in old Yankee stadium an outfielder sending one of the bat boys to attempt to pick up a young woman. I thought wow can this guy multi-task. She turned down the millionaire ball player. We are all invited to attend the games, it is just most New Yorkers can't afford the seats, the beer, the hot dogs, etc. Welcome to the Bloomberg's new hideous NY.
Thanks for following my blog....I am really trying to devote today to resting because this cold is beginning to resemble the flu. Not the swine flu but I may have the Bloomberg NYU flu .
I don't know if John Sexton the president of the purple reign of terror NYU can even vote here in NYC but I do know he ran down to testify that the little emperor of NY must have a third term. NYU newest greedy community crushing expansion beginning to be exposed is the ugly reason why and Bill Thompson and or Tony Avella would never have allowed this to go on.
I will never forget what I witness next door to my now ex-home of 20 years. The parishioners of St. Ann's crying and praying on the street. Many on their knees crying and singing hymns. The USPS had illegally sold the air rights to NYU. Illegally just like they chronically blocked the fire hydrant in front of my home of 2 decades. The USPS never notified The State of NY as legally required so the State could come in and examine is this air sale in the best interest of the community, examine environmental concerns, etc. It never happened.
Welcome to Mike Bloomberg's new hideous NY built on "old" New York's crumbling infrastructure and more disintegration is too come from horrible cuts including the MTA and city gov. to the streets and infrastructure already in worse shape despite the mega builds -- getting worse. I think Con Ed is raising prices because of all the zone busting sky piercing developments they tried to keep pace with....we are paying I believe for Con Ed's attempts to keep up with the expansion but who expands and pushes a reckless greedy stupid tsunami of development pushing population growth and closes firehouses? Someone who is now leading us to even harsher cuts and the clowns of Albany helped a long the way. Espada and Monserrate bringing Albany to a stand still hurt big but that was and is lost on them. I hope that Espada is arrested this year on theft of tax payer money. The USA's debt is in the mega trillions and homelessness is up but be comforted that NYU, Cooper Union and Columbia U can expand their campuses be involved in shady real estate deals that cost the people of NY big including mass displacement or more subtle ways when eminent domain is not abused.
Enjoy the Yankees from the idiot box that is unless cable and Yes have a battle over money...
I am going to rest and think happy thoughts. Despite all this there are such good people around and I feel very connected to goodness. As Yoda says, "May the force be with you."

Under Bloomberg even ghosts lose their homes...
The New York City Fire Patrol: An Illustrated History
Fire Patrolman Roma died Sept. 11 and his plaque should be there. I never imagined our historic fire houses would be closed and so for real estate after Sept. 11. There is another haunting issue to contend with and that is the ghost of Fire Patrolmen Schwartz. According to author Arthur C. Smith, Patrolmen Schwartz hung himself at work broken hearted over his wife cheating on him and can be seen in his 1930's regalia. I have to repeat, i can't believe so many of our firehouses have been closed and sold and more is to come. I can't believe the ghost of Babe Ruth is now homeless because a new Yankee Stadium paid in part with tax payer money that most tax payers can't afford tickets to was forced on us. Welcome to Mike Bloomberg's hideous new New York. Anderson Cooper should donate the building to the City of New York.
Note: The City Room in my opinion has major integrity issues but that is another story.... I wrote this -- let us see if they post this.
Post-script: An staff member from The New York Times wrote me and told me my comment is now posted.
I wrote him back this....
Thank you. That is new experience for me. My comment on term limits the night of was not approved. I talked about slush money.
That is just one example.
Jeremiah of Vanishingnewyork.blogspot.com, I believe was following my blog and YouTube series on Karen, a tranny that worked in front of Love Saves the Day and in my opinion or should I say my feeling is Jeremiah stole my work. He posted the same photo I posted but with a better camera days after my posting and the City Room never bothered to Google Karen and the topic. If City Room had they would have found my series.
There are countless other examples including a battle I had with yet an editor who made me remove my opinion that Cooper Union's construction build was responsible for the medium sized water main break less than a block away. http://www.ny1.com/1-all-boroughs-news-content/pages/search/?currentUri=http://www.ny1.com/content/top_stories/default.aspx&searchtarget=ny1&searchterm=Suzannah%20B.%20Troy&SecID=243
To date this intersection continues to break open like an open wound.
It seems The New York Times has way too often deleted my comments or made me take away a sentence expressing my opinion but has no problem publishing a comment by NYU or Cooper Union reps and even NYU President John Sexton's insane comment -- that certain people are making their reputation fighting NYU. NYU has destroyed our communities where ever they occupy forcing us out to make room for their unending need to expand.
Thanks for finally getting a comment of mine up and past the usual censors.

NYU uses Lafayette Street as their private parking lot as well as Broadway disrespecting the East Village as well as crushing Purple Reign of terror
Mike Bloomberg, Amanda Burden are on it the destruction of any neighborhood NYU decides to destroy in the name of higher ed which is why John Sexton paid almost 2 million a year, the evil empires president runs down to testify it is okay for mike and christine quinn his puppet to flush democracy down the toilet because NYU needs the city's help to continue displacing and destroying people and historic NYC but don't worry NYU leaves some small piece of the historic building like a skull to remind us of the purple reign of terror almost like a warning....see 120 East 12th Street....
the housing center would be a great place for a community outreach resource center and yes, I wrote Pres. Obama about pressuring NYU to stop the destruction and start honoring words like "community facility" instead of using it to supersize and exclude the community.
