The UN's top court has ruled that Japan's whaling hunt in the Southern Ocean is not a scientific program as Tokyo has always claimed.

"The court concludes that the special permits granted by Japan for the killing, taking and treating of whales in connection with JARPA II are not for purposes of scientific research," President Peter Tomka told the International Court of Justice in The Hague on Monday.
The court ruled Tokyo should cease its whaling program "with immediate effect".

The ICJ, by 12 votes to four, said Japan hadn't acted in compliance with its obligations under the international whaling convention.

Australia had asked the 16-judge panel to ban Japan's annual hunt on the basis it was not "for purposes of scientific research" as allowed under Article 8 of the 1946 International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling.

Canberra argued Tokyo was cloaking a commercial whaling operation "in the lab coat of science" despite agreeing to a 1980s ban on harpooning.

Japan, however, countered during a three-week hearing in mid-2013 that the ICJ didn't have the authority to decide what was, or wasn't, science.

It insisted lethal research was both lawful and necessary. But the court on Monday dismissed Tokyo's argument

Jay Ott Missing Like Stevie Bates Facebook Page and a Mystery?

It's been years now no one has found Stevie...

Hello friends! I know we've posted this before, but it's still pretty important. If you're able at all to contribute to Cecily's support fund it would be incredibly helpful to her and the rest of the trial support effort (if you think about it, giving $10 is just skipping out on two somewhat-inexpensive beers at a bar). If you're not able to contribute, you can always share it with your friends in case some of then can help out! I'm really looking forward to seeing all of your wonderful faces at the party on Saturday, and of course in court next week.

Slept until 5am have my period rest mode

I slept deeply but it doesn't make up for the days of insomnia... I really feel like I need rest make up for a lot of lost sleep...

Actually it's been almost a year and a half because it's the worst insomnia I've ever had and it started when I got assaulted and got worse when I called the New York Police Department and internal affairs Bureau fixing caught them involved in these fixing of me being assaulted an internal affairs Bureau fixing for the cops that coerced me.  

I'm really tired and feel like I have to have a hamburger which is gross and fattening unhealthy...

One day I would like to be vegan but I can't now...

I used to be vegetarian for a few years.

My Mom is doing better although her life is automatically changed and she hasn't come to terms with that yet how can she?   The Parkinson medicine helping a lot although she does not have means to Parkinson's.  It is her walking that most resembles Parkinson's.

One tour I took I told the tour guide my mom looks like a sprite teenager compared to these folks.  

Very sad and I've been touring so many places seeing how the old are treated and how there's so many factors that have led people to places where their bodies have not been able to age in a healthy way .  I've been to a locked floors where so people can't get off the floor because they don't have memory.  I asked the tour guide if I could wait downstairs - I couldn't stand it was so sad and the smell - it was a beautiful place in New York but still awful.

My mom is fully cognizant looks beautiful and younger than a lot of people.  She wants to just go home but her home is not set up for her new limitations.  She may move to a new condo or apt rather than one of these places.   

The Parkinson's medicine has helped her along with aggressive physical therapy she's doing better her spirit is better and she used a beautiful watercolor set I got her and made a very beautiful painting which makes us both happy.  Mom was a star at the famous high school in New York City for the arts and even skipped a grade because she was such a good student.

Dad was so lucky he died at home in his bed and lived his life on his terms.

Seeing what I've seen over last few weeks next want to take extra good care of myself so I never have to go into an old age home ever.   I would rather be like a cat or dog and be put to sleep and going to an old age home but that's just me.  I think it's more humane and economical.
