NYPD down to 34,000 marking historically the smallest number of NYPD policing the largest NYC Population by Suzannah B. Troy

Here is David Seifman’s article from The New York Post but what the article doesn’t mention and I have pointed out for quite a while....we, NYC, historically have the smallest amount of NYPD officers ever policing the largest population including illegals ever in the history of NYC.
I am a bigger supporter of the NYPD except if they break the law and abuse their power and that includes retired NYPD. At some point when the Sept. 11 Museum opens some where my jacket with patches and pins including an NYPD patch front and center of my coat will be on display. Being a supporter of the NYPD means not turning a blind eye to wrong doing.
The NYPD numbers are dangerously low. We do have way to much violence and drug abuse here in NYC but I do believe that the violence and drug have to be addressed from a core place of community protests sending a message on a regular basis out on the street.
On a sad but sweet note: A young NYPD officer was such a gentleman he really touched me by holding the door for me. I thanked him and visually I noted the black ribbon on his badge to mark the loss of an NYPD officer who recently died in the line of duty.
If there was a way to pay the NYPD the highest salaries possible for the hardest working particularly with big, big bonuses for the NYPD that put themselves in the most danger I would do it if I could. I always say the GOOD NYPD get a special place in Heaven.
