Vendors a honorable to make a living but Mike Bloomberg and The Mercer Hotel want to shut down vendors what about the unemployment rate here in NYC mr. mayor?
http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-07-15/nyc-jobless-rate-drops-to-9-5-state-s-falls-to-8-2-.html
Hmmm, let us look at the unemployment rate here in NYC. Bloomberg news reports a slight drop but to the significant percentage of unemployment king Mike Bloomberg and people like Michael Rawson of The Mercer Hotel would shut down vendors including Veterans that served our Country and artists?
Could you imagine is Mike Bloomberg and Mike Rawson, both little emperors in their own minds, got their way and made all these vendors unable to earn a living.
The unemployment rater would continue to rise.
There are many New Yorkers that believe they are living in a depression already and I am not talking emotional but economic and a large percentage I am told are minorities.
Vets have a legal right to be vendors. They more than earned it. Artist now have a legal right to sell their art but if Mike Bloomberg could limit them and Rawson have them swept off the street at least by Andre Balazs fancy hotel they would.
You would think Mike Bloomberg would encourage these vendors and artists considering he is patron of the arts.
A big artist protest is coming very soon to Union Square. They may need to be one in Soho of all vendors, Vets, Artist or maybe an even bigger one day at City Hall to Mike Bloomberg to stop the reign of tickets on New Yorkers all except rich New Yorkers that never, ever seem to get tickets. They even have signs in their windows, please don't ticket me. Why do they have these signs if they are not in fact parked illegally.
Note: The figures for unemployment are not accurate and of course the reality is much worse including many employed who are not earning a living wage.
