USPS Cooper Station has rats in the basement eating thru customers packages according to ABC NEWS
(Note the photo is of the facade of St. Ann's from1847 that survived everything but NYU's need and greed to build yet another mega dorm and the USPS owned the air rights to St. Ann's, 120 East 12th Street. The USPS did not notify the State of NY as legally obligated to when selling the air rights to NYU but as usual the USPS was confident it was and is above the law.)

What ever you do -- do not directly complain to the USPS. They gave a corporate 800 number and they always send apologetic letters but my experience with the USPS my ex-neighbors that sold the air space to NYU over St. Ann's, 120 East 12th Street is their customer service makes the Mafia look warm and friendly.
My maternal Grandfather born in a tenement house on Ludlow 1904 moved to the Bronx was a mailman that delivered mail in the Bronx.
He was a nice kind man. I can't say that about my experiences and I had to stop getting mail delivered to my home of 20 years, now ex-home....why would I have to do that?
The USPS vans would block the fire hydrant outside my now ex-home of 20 years. They don't do that anymore. Cooper Station has a new manager. The one that paid my an unusual visit retired shortly there after. NYC lost a record number of firemen Sept. 11 and too many New Yorkers have died in fires so it was too upsetting for me to have to see the fire hydrant chronically blocked. When I complained directly to the Cooper Station -- this is the station now delivering packages that holes in them from rodents chewing through them -- the postal workers responded -- Let the NYPD ticket and tow us! Ha ha ha... I once asked what is your name. The person lied and made up the name. I gave the name to the Postal Police. The postal police where pathetic and useless living on reputation only. The USPS has lost aprox. 14 BILLION dollars in three years.
If you have a problem with the USPS do not go to the post office but call their corporate number.
I have nothing to do with the USPS if possible do my best to never step foot in the USPS Stations and ask people to not send me anything via USPS if possible, use Federal Express, email me but do not spend any money support an mega billion dollar losing operation that makes the Mafia look warm and cuddly. Don't go there..do not bother.
FYI: Postal workers are never suppose to approach customers....or threaten or intimidate them....
