Sad stuff.
I believe the NYPD should be the best paid police force, have the best equipment and support, that there should be constant reform and change, that every situation should be looked at and learned from.
If they make a mistake just like a medical doctor someone can die so the job takes courage.
I have a lot more to say but I am exhausted and I don't feel well.
See early posting on this...
I also think of so many victims that have been shot or stabbed on the streets of NYC or even in their own bedrooms from stray bulltets and purposeful violence but I don't hear the outrage enough that needs to be addressed. I heard one one in a call in show speak up on this issue addressing it from even the clothes worn by young men to the language and I thought she was right on as well.
I did a youtube on Nyasia Pryear, 17 and President Obama's inaugaration and how her family would be greiving instead of celebreating...she was a beautiful young woman full of promise. I took it down because of annonymous commentors and their statements were the beyond the shockingly stupid ignorant ones that internet seems to breed.
I don't understand why Keyanna Jones' murder walked free. I would like the grand jury to explain that one to me with news reporters from the NY Post and NY Daily News at my side.
I have made youtubes on crime and on violence and murder especially of girls and women -- it is not fun.
I once wrote Commish Kelly I wish we did not need the police. I do appreciate the good they for us; I don't take the good they do for granted and walking down the street or sitting in the park and hopefully being safe involves the good they do that many might take for granted.
This heart breaking but why so much violence that we need police and I that has got to get addressed. I don't understand why this is not addressed every day in every way until there is peace in the streets. I past teen age boys today with their pants worn way down around their thighs and most of their boxer underpants exposed and again I wonder where are their parents, role models, someone anyone who can reach them.... The language I hear on the street from kids male and female is shocking and again I wonder where are their parents, role models, etc.

I tried to read my poem but I couldn't get it together to address violence towards women and every youtube I do on women issues no surprise someone comes along -- my guess an abuser or abuser in the making giving me crap.
Why so much violence in the streets, in the homes, in entertainment...? Why and what are communities and society going to do about it? A march or a protest is nice but it is not enough. I did not see protests for Keyanna, for Nyasia, for Sabina, for Imette and there are so many male and female victims but this tragedy already feels exploited when all parties are grieving...all parties were in heroic mode but something or things went terrible wrong.
I remember looking a photo of a white police officer in uniform happily surrounded by fellow police officers, he was in a wheel chair and severely handicapped and I was told from friendly fire (I am basing this recollection on memory)...but clearly still he loved the NYPD, still he loved to be surrounded by fellow police officer. Just heart breaking on way too many levels.
