with my two cats...overwhelmed.... |
My honey getting some cat massage after his surgery - he has a pink cast like pain patch on his back leg... |
I had to have both their eyes checked by a specialist. When I adopted my female cat (I stopped giving out names of my pets because of people a little to obsessed with me) at age 10 she had a huge saucer eye and local vets would touch it and tell me it did not hurt. I paid bills for Vets that did not know what they were talking about. Cats don't neccessary show pain and have a high threshold....she had to be feeling the intense pressure and I am lucky I got her at age 10 and could get her help. Maybe the people that had her got evicted but she was found abandoned on the street and ended up in Whiskers where she was so loved she didn't want to leave but now she is so much happier and healthier.
There is no doubt that the medical care from the Animal Medical Center and Dr. Solas from 5th Avenue Vets sending me to AMC saved my girl cat's life!!!!! Adopting a 10 yr. with major health problems including her eye, a front fang filled with puss as well as some intense arthritis has been an experience. She is so much happier now that she had her eye and teeth removed. Sounds gross but it is true.
Long story too tired but I had to rush her to 5th Avenue Vets who are awesome and they referred me to AMC way back when to have her eye removed. 20 is the highest your eye pressure can be and hers was 80. The doctor said both my cats are fine. My big boy cat had an ulcer in his eye as a kitten which burned through 4 layers of his eye but God works miracles and his Iris came through the layers and was natures healing patch. Relieved my cats get to keep the eyes they have.
My girl saw an arthritis specialist and she weighs 10 pounds so they said although she has arthritis if I keep her weight down and make sure she gets exercise she will be fine. Exercise lubricates the joints. Toys are highly recommended including the laser one -- using a flashlight something to make sure she moves. Jumping from high places is highly discouraged and lucky for us she doesn't do that.
5th Ave. Vets are so wonderful because we could not find the disk I had dropped off of an x-ray of my senior female cat I adopted at age 10 and so I called 5th Ave. Vet Specialist and they emailed it to Animal Medical Center
I feel like I have aged 100 years since I made this youtube where I take you on a tour of Animal Medical Center.
