Catherine Crier - 'Plaintiff's (That is Joe Tacky Tacopina) claim against Mr. Tacopina is frivolous! '


It appears Joe Tacopina, the lawyer accused by former NYC Police Commissioner Bernie Kerik of operating a an extortion and racketeering law firm is in his latest money dispute with a former friend, this time, Catherine Crier. In legal papers released on June 15, 2015, Tacopina has filed a Motion to compel arbitration and to dismiss the claims against Mr. Tacopina with prejudice (See attached - Tacopina reply).

On March 30, 2015, Catherine Crier, an attorney and television personality and a member of TAG partners, claims she "borrowed money through a home equity letter of credit for the purpose of participating in Tacopina's TAG opportunity." Ms. Crier claims in court papers she was stiffed out of $233, 627.00 in monies owed (See attached - Ms. Crier complaint).

It appears this money dispute is not over. The papers talk of statue of limitations and technicalities.  These are the same type of "technical" defenses Tacopina has used with other former clients who charged alleged liability, including against Bernie Kerik. In the papers, Crier states Tacopina began making payments and that Mr. Tacopina allegedly represented in an email, dated Nov. 8, 2009, that he was personally liquidating his shares in Senticare and SG Blocks (companies he was invested in) to take a personal loan to replay Plaintiff the Repurchase Price.

So, is Ms. Crier telling the truth when she says she was unpaid $233,627.00? Mr. Tacopina is alleged to have sued various former clients, including Bernie Kerik, his lawyer, Tim Parlatore, his client, Jane Doe (a CT lawyer), and the N.Y. Daily News. It could be asked, is the game plan to sue former clients to pay other disgruntled clients or friends money's allegedly owed? What is interesting is the depth of the legal knowledge of the growing list of alleged Tacopina victims now speaking up. Police commissioners, lawyers, press reporters, and 20-20 TV personalities have all made claims...well, of course Mr. Tacopina has his lawyers to shield him...what was the song by Helen Ready, era 1975, oh yes,..... "You and me against the world...."
