Here is a reply to this NYDN article today:
I read the article over A-Rod's alleged outstanding lawyer fees. I wanted to provide my humble opinion and give some NON-LEgAL ADVICE to A-ROD the disgraced baseball player himself, just in case he reads your blog.
FIRSTLY, if the complaining A-Rods lawyers pratcice in N.Y (which they do) and the venue was in the New York Court, which it was, upon information and belief, the lawyers are obligated not to cause prejudice to their client, A-ROD, and they are specifically required to notify A-Rod or any client for that matter (in the event of an attorney-fee dispute) of his Client's Statement of Rights pursuant to 22 NYCRR §1210.1. Within his rights is a state mandated NY Court Fee Dispute program pursuant to 22 NYCRR § 137 (See attached - link, below-copy paste).
SECONDLY, without knowing all of the facts, that said, I believe it is possible 1) the lawsuit is unjustified before these options are presented, 2) the lawyer may be at fault or whomever is leading A-Rod's "legal" team for not advising his rights and disclosure of attorney-client privilege communications can be avoided for "money" disputes. That is one of the reasons the court mandated these very clear procedures.
THIRDLY, if I was A-Rod, instead of listening to ex-model morons (in my commentor's opinion)I would go back to whomever was the "Lead Attorney" (yes, in this case being the A-Rod lawyer being accused of crime, fraid, and racketeering and who made sure he was all paid to date) and say, hey, "You are the A-Rod lawyer face and snake's head, what are my legal client rights here...? .....better yet, maybe give him Kerik's lawyer's phone number..or, if all falls, he can take out the money wad again and call "1-800-savemyass"...! These are only the humble thoughts in my role as a servant to the public ....regards
