The NYPD did everything but put a bullet in Joe's head for whistle blowing on corrupt cops 30 years ago. Joe knows Serpico -- Joe meet Adrian Schoolcraft.

(Note from Suzannah: Joe Sanchez blew the whistle on corruption NYPD and he was set up all false goal to get him out of NYPD 30 years ago! Horrifying what they did to him. )
....well in my book -- this one cop who loved to respond to DOA { Dead on arrival } jobs in search of valuable things he could steal.
(Joe has more to say about the good cops but also exposes corruption in the book.)
With my other book "Red Herring: The Stinking Trail: Police Corruption in Washington Heights" it starts with two cops stealing from 3 DOA brothers. Though Red Herring is a novel, it's written as a "Roman a Clef"
Many cops who have read my books, support me when it comes to telling the many true stories of what it was like working as a cop for the NYPD.
It's the best job in the world as far as I am concerned, but like many other police departments, it has its many flaws.
When a cop steps forward to speak and do what is right concerning nefarious corruption inside the Blue Wall, unless he/she is a high ranking officer, the officer is doomed to be driven off the job through harassment, like having his/her locker marked with the word "Rat" In my case, my locker was broken into and all my police equipment stolen. This happened in the 34 Pct where I was working at the time.
I told a 34 Pct PBA delegate what had happened while I was accompanied by my 10-year-old son at the station house to pick up my police equipment and bring home. Rather then show support, he told me that the 34 had collected money on my behalf since I had been (fyi falsely) indicted, arrested and suspended without pay. He tried to hand me a $20 bill.
It was a message for me to drop dead for being a rat. Gee-whiz, , I ratted a bad lieutenant that could care less for the good cops, and putting them in harm's way with his corrupt activities. Were we not the good guys? I told him what he could do with the 20 dollars and same message to the rest of the corrupt cops in the 34 Pct.
The 34 had many a good cops, but they were not about to risk their necks out for me. Who could blame them?

Former 30 Precinct cop, Russell Litwenak arrested for robbery. Some of us knew Russel Litwenak when we worked the 30 Pct. This is his second time being arrested. If true, the man needs to ask God for help and forgiveness.

FYI: Serpico single. Adrian Schoolcrsft single. Joe and his wife had 4 children to support after NYPD brass and Internal Affairs set him up.
