Look up New York and it says NO ANSWER ----
Sent to me by someone that reads my blog.....
I AM NOT A LAWYER.
NY does not require lawyers to carry malpractice insurance
Nice having a significant amount of lawyers in politics that helps them from mandating them to carry malpractice insurance
The disciplinary committee in downtown n.y.c gets around 2,000 complaints a year.
It questions less than 1% of those complaints. After they question it
The almost all complaints get thrown out. Very few complaints go further.
I was told that lawyers pay roughly 3,000 a year to for their law license.
That money funds the disciplinary committee. The more lawyers the better benefits and pay that employees of the DDC get. The more lawyers the more money they bring in. Lawyers can be disbarred in one state, then go to another state take the barr exam and pay the fees and get licensed to practice law.
Some lawyers have been disbarred in more than one state and yet still placating by moving to other states.
the DDC does not allow consumers to see how many complaints have been filled against the lawyer . Multiple complaints could have been filled against a lawyer, as a consumer you can not find that out. you can not find out if the lawyer you are hiring has been disbarred in other states.
Your lawyer does not have to carry malpractice insurance to protect the client"
