Suzannah B. Troy's U.S. Veteran's Supporting Her Stop Rapes Protest
I did not want to write about it for fear of breaking some magic spell but my very first protest I organized was a success and it was for our Veteran Vendor's who were being harassed by the than manager of The Mercer Hotel. The manager no longer works there and the new manager leaves the Vet's alone thank goodness.
I just got a text message from one of the Vets wishing me a Happy Mother's Day. I wanted to cry. Not just his thoughtful gesture but because a Vet or two that I helped in Soho and from the East Village are attending my 2nd protest and it will be in front of Joe Tacopina and Chad Seigel's office at 275 Madison Ave by 40th Street. Rapes are up in NY and under reported. Seigel asked if "it" snaps shut like a Venus Fly Trap - an in your face hate crime comparing women's private parts to a flesh eating plant.

Eric who is now 80 and the most physically handicapped of the Vets by Mercer is coming to my protest! So is Karen from the East Village who served during the Viet Nam Era stationed in Germany.
Monday I will call a World War 2 Vet who stood with us and see how he is and if he can join us. I wrote him a moving thank you note. He wrote me one back telling me he keeps my letter with his War Medals.
I think of these Veterans as mine and my Dad who served in WW2.
Both Mom and Dad have major health issues.
On my way to visit Mom. Praying for all kinds of miracles.
