DOT East Village paving over DEP nightmares?
Did you ever wonder how many toxic, noxious fumes and polutants New Yorkers inhale from all the over the top reckless tsunami of development that Mike Bloomberg, socialite mega millionaire City Planner Amanda the people's Burden pushed on "old" New York's infrastructure the continues to break open again and again like wounds that won't heal?
We probably have inhaled more toxic and noxious pollutants than any 2nd hand cigarette smoke.
Thanks Mike!
New Yorkers all over the city are stunned by the terrible state of the streets and side walks so why is the East Village so lucky to get streets repaved?
Who knows but will it make a difference if there are so many infrastructure problems not addressed.
Mike Bloomberg said DOB commissioner no longer need to have a degree in architecture and or engineering....
I have no idea what the head of DEP's degree and background but city wide the date and age of infrastructure -- what lays underneath the streets is documented and needed to be addressed before king Bloomberg and his socialite city planner gave all their rich pals the right to bust throw our zoning and weigh so heavy on our old infrastructure and that includes all the mega dorms in the East Village starting with the evil empire, the purple reign of terror NYU that mega dormed the East Village to death.
What is the point of DOT paving a new street here when this intersection remains a dangerous open wound since the medium size water main break 3 years ago?

This is where the 9th Precinct is. If you are trying to cross the street here know you could break your ankle or neck but the good news is the street 1 block East looked like a bomb had dropped and DOT is repaving it.
I asked a gentleman weeks ago are you from DOT and he said he was an outside contractor from Con Ed working on a gas line.
My theory is every commish and Con Ed needed to say to the mayor slow down. You are pushing a way to rapid development and it is too dangerous. First infrastructure. Con Ed keeps hiring outside contractors setting a record for Con Ed. I don't believe they have ever hired so many outside workers.
I also believe that we the people are paying Con Ed for infrastructure expansion for NYU's mega dorms, for NYU and Cooper Unions zone busting real estate dealings, hotels, Columbia University.
This is the street 1 block East of the 9th Precinct where I asked the gentleman are you working on street conditions and he said no he was an outside contractor working on a gas line.
The East Village Lower East Side China Town and city wide has had record amounts of infrastructure related problems from water main breaks, sewage breaks, gas leaks, man hole covers exploding, etc.
Also below ground concerns are subway stations which are depilated and dangerous especially with the Bloomberg's reckless expansion and development that threw infrastructure concerns to the way side catering to developers.

See my YouTubes on infrastructure concerns....
So far DEP and DOT have not returned my calls just like Mike Bloomberg's private empire public relations woman because when it comes to Mike Bloomberg's private empire or public aka NYC he and the city are not accountable until enough New Yorkers are dead as we witnessed when finally, after the last horrifying crane disaster Bloomberg repeated activists's mantra including mine "Safety first" and than Mike Bloomberg promptly forgot because all he cares about is catering to developers.
By the way, how can you push population and close fire houses?
