Porn the dark side warping a new generation by Gail Dines and my thoughts on Porn Junkies and SEX SEX SEX!!!!!!!
The New York Post has a piece by Gail Dines and she believes porn is warping an entire generation of men.

Hollywood has gotten as close to porn as possible and now hollywood movies look more like porn movies and porn movies look more like hollywood flicks. I have a horror comedy I want to make that I believe would be a box office smash, win Oscars and it would be very, very sexy and smart. ( I also want the film to have animation.) Not anti-women but it would certainly educate, entertain men quite a bit for sure.
The porn industry now has their own Academy Awards that is 100 times more exciting and lively than The Oscars. The award show is by AVN empire.
I have read books by porn stars including Jenna Jameson and Tera Patrick their's was a tough life although these two women have made a fortune. It does appear drug and alcohol abuse played a roll.
A young woman going over to the 12th and 3rd Avenue way back when when sex workers stood outside the NYU dorm there told me she had to get boozed up to do her work.
Jenna Jameson gives you amazing sex tips on how to make love like a porn star.
Raising your Sexual IQ is the way to go and that includes practicing safe sex but all the sex knowledge in the world will not help you in bed if you don't treat a lover with respect and kindness. If you do not treat someone nicely I guarantee they won't want to have sex with you. That is a no brainer but an elusive to some most especially to men.
Oprah recommends pro-women porn and I am for any thing pro-women that is sexually empowering for women and also for the men and women that love us. Porn is not going away so it means sense to make it less violent and hateful although that will never go away anytime soon either.
I do think Gail Dines has made some very interesting and real points.
I would add that porn stars go to great lengths including painful surgeries to create a look that is not real and than their bodies are air brushed literally.
What is fascinating is that women who have been abused and oppressed have become porn star moguls making mega millions being the heads of their own studios and producing anything from custom sex toys of their private parts to selling clothes, book, DVDs so a small elite group of women have turned their hellish beginnings or experiences in to mega-fortunes. I don't know if Belladonna has made a fortune but she has not gotten breast implants but has pushed has pushed the boundaries like no other woman. She cried in an interview on ABC but than denied some of the things she said later. She entertains her viewers but I think her sexuality may be frightening to plenty of men as well. An interesting question is are mine frightened by women's sexuality? What do you think? Of course the answer is yes. And the fear also evokes a lot of anger so turning to porn or abusing women is a false sense of control and power.
Getting back to the new wave of sexually empowered women media moguls. Is it worth it? Only they can answer that question.
Jenna Jameson has had so much plastic surgery she looks scary and that is a red flag for major discontent. Terra Patrick in her new book tells how she had sex with an older man when she was a teenager which is statutory rape. When she got married her husband encouraged her to push the envelope in front of the camera and that is where the big bucks are for women porn stars. She made a fortune and she made her now ex-husband a fortune as well.
More and more women are getting involved in all levels of the porn industry so expect smarter better porn but there is still so much that is anti-women and unrealistic in way too many ways that may leave viewers secretly intimidated and not only with unrealistic expectations with partners but also deep down with themselves if they are male consumers of porn because the male porn stars are "hard to live up to" as well.
There are now women owned adult stores dedicated to sexually empowering women. The NYPD raided Babeland stores here in NYC and they are no longer allowed to rent porn. They are now only allowed to sell porn. Thank goodness the NYPD raided these stores to make that distinction. If only we had a camera over at the local precincts when they brought the contra band back to the precincts!
Note: In some States in the USA -- I believe one example is Texas -- sex toys could get you in big trouble and are technically illegal. I am sure Hatachi is a big seller there and perfectly legal. Who ever created the Hitachi is a multi or mega millionaire.
The internet has created a new generation of porn junkies with some porn consumers needing multiple screens to imbibe like a food junkie taking all different kinds of food and mushing them up and inhaling. Being a "porn junkie" is escapism and for men that feel very powerless and scared it gives them a false sense of power and relief from inadequacies but like any drug abuser leaves them with bigger angst, a gaping black hole and a lonely viscous cycle.
People and that is pretty much everyone are fascinated by sex. There are ancient cave paintings with sex, Roman Frescos that were porn frescos in whore houses with both male and female sex workers and their sex partners, in Indian cultural there is the Karma Sutra which was about sexual empowerment....porn and or sexual images have and will already be around.
Americans have to be the most sex obsessed and even more so sexually repressed backward country in the modern world. The primitive countries still do clitoral and vaginal mutilations and honor killing a young woman's hymen is not intact but America is pretty screwed up when it comes to sex and of course the treatment and perception of women.
My letter on women and porn in The New York Times art section that I am very proud of.

As my loyal blog followers know I always talk about Mae West. In the 1920's the mayor had the NYPD shut down her broadway play Sex. She wrote the play and starred in it. The NYPD arrested her! She went to Jefferson Court House now Jefferson Library and was found guilty. She served her sentence with grace and parlayed the publicity in to Hollywood Stardom so I guess she owed the mayor and the NYPD a big thank you. To learn more go to this wonderful blog. I have problems with the links to Courting Mae. Maybe you will have better luck.

Sex is fantabulous is sex is between respectful consenting adults but it is true there is a lot of hate, often self hate dumped on women, sick and twisted stuff and Dine has made some interesting points.
