The Mercer Hotel across the street has an SUV with no driver no ticket but his working class stiff's truck got a parking ticket Does the Mercer Hotel have a special relationship with the NYPD?
This truck is not parked by The Mercer Hotel but around the corner and there is a ticket in the window -- look to your right. If you look at the top left hand corner of the photo above you can see the SUV with no ticket in the picture below!
This SUV is one of a series of cars just parked there. If you click on the photo you will see there is no one in the car.
Everyone knows that Mike Bloomberg has hired even more traffic NYPD to hand out more tickets and in Queens they NYPD are giving out parking tickets to people not even breaking the law. In the East Village they give out tickets faster than a Olympic Sprinter on steroids but when the NYPD van pulls up from the 1st Precinct the NYPD officers walk by and never, ever, EVER give out a ticket to these vehicles.
New Yorkers want to know how we can get the same kind of treatment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Mercer Hotel's manager Michael Rawson's personal favorite past time appears to be harassing Viet Nam and Korean War Vets that have a legal right to be vendors out on the street and Rawson's calls the 1st Precinct and they come over and ticket vendors and even sometimes arrest time. They arrested a Mom who had just recently given birth and was sitting with a Vet working with him for some ridiculous reason and I was taking photographs when the new commander came by and gave two vets 2 tickets over 2 inches - both of them. The odds are extremely high all those tickets will be tossed out in court and the vendors will fight them but in the meantime mysteriously The Mercer Hotel has all these SUV's parked where it says no parking and either idling or the cars are empty and no tickets.
You know those NYPD ticket agents all around the East Village that makes Jaws look just sweet and endearing....you never see them at 147 Mercer Street.
Maybe king Mike thinks ticketing rich people is bad for the economy or something? Mike just wants to ticket middle class and low income people up to their eyeballs. He can afford to give one way tickets to homeless people but it is far more cost effective to ticket everyone but the special guests of The Mercer Hotel.
To read more go to my blogs search engine and type The Mercer Hotel or google Suzannah B. Troy Capt. Winski. By the way Capt. Winski is an NYPD hero who caught a bank robber and is the new commander of the 1st Precinct.
I asked DOT to please check to see if any signs has been removed like perhaps a "No Standing" sign and wrote DEP asking for no idling signs on both sides of the street.
A working stiff's truck got a ticket but he was not parked in front of the hotel but on Prince Street.
Anyone parked in front of the Hotel or across the street on Mercer seems to be in a ticket proof special area for those special people that get driven to The Mercer to do what they do have their cars just sit there illegally. There is a parking lot on the same block for these rich folk. Sure hope they are not doing any Elliot Spitzer like activity or anything else that the average person would get busted for.
It sure would be an unpleasant thought to think some people are above the law.
Well, yeah, I guess that is the case until they do something really really naughty that just can't be ignored.
