Have you seen subways stations and stairs on normal rainy days and ditto for Bloomberg's 3rd world streets of NYC but that is what you get with a socialite mega millionaire city planner and everyone including MTA big wigs along with Christine Quinn's Mike's mini-me all with emperor complexes. At least MTA won't raise the fares tomorrow!

HBO True Blood Pins And Needles Larry David Chaser
Cabin Fever from Huricane Irene and anxiety overload as winds are actually kicking up so went
to HBO Go to take a look at last weeks pins and needles True Blood episode to remind myself of cliff hanger ending.
Uh oh, and than I have to watch Larry David to calm down even though I do not like him and find him annoying and gross. I also find True Blood too gory and wish they would leave the gore to our imaginations. I am addicted to True Blood - one year I could not watch so gruesome and the story line was awful with the town being taken over by a satanic creature.
The winds are really strong. Spoke to my high school art teacher she is without electricity but her attitude as always strong and positive.
Cannot get over the strong winds kicking up so late in the day.
The only thing weirder is the media handling of all this.

IDIOT- from perspective of a person living in the city the hype was far harder on people than the storm- this constant hype had a lot of people- especially elderly people really scared- then the amount of money individuals spent to survive the "hurricane" of the century-- in areas of Long ISland- NJ- yes- so much rain will for sure cause flooding- but in NYC shutting down the transit system was retarded-- I met one crusty last night absolutley soaked having to walk to Bed-Sty- he looked like he was ready to drop-- the mayor is an idiot to have shut down the transit system-- the weather here now is nice- but nobody can get around!!!
Since the community is now so yuppie most workers cannot afford to live here- for example the guy in the grocery store next door- he lives in the Bronx- so he had o catch the last train at noon- so out of work saturday- cannot come in on Sunday- and the system hopefully will be up to speed on monday-- '

Loud Thunder and Lightening As Irene Slowly Makes Present Felt
6 People are Dead from Hurricane Irene and she has not made it to NYC yet.
10:00 PM finally hear loud thunder and see lighting but Irene’s danger won’t set in until 2 or 3 am.
From what I can see Bloomberg has failed again just like the Blizzard but I continue to not share how and what but no one has exposed it as usual and won’t unless there are dead bodies.
The rain is like a horror movie....

Several hours ago, portions of NYC were evacuated for the first time in history, and the largest public transportation system in the country was shut down due to Hurricane Irene. With conditions deteriorating, Mayor Bloomberg implored NYers to stay home for our own safety and so that emergency vehicles can easily navigate the streets. Downpours occurred throughout the day.
In spite of all of the above and the law which clearly states that carriage operators cannot work during "ice, heavy rain or other slippery conditions," dozens of horse-drawn carriage operators were working as of 4:30 p.m. If history repeats itself, the horses will be forced to make the long, treacherous trip through the streets of midtown back to the "stables" when the storm intensifies.
As usual, the ASPCA, which collects an untold amount of money from donors in the name of helping the carriage horses, allowed the carriage drivers to leave the stables this morning and to work all day in the wet streets in spite of the law.
The ASPCA, which was founded to protect the carriage horses, continues to stand by and watch as the carriage operators to break the law. They mock -- instead of support -- the advocates who are working tirelessly to take the horses out of harm's way. And they continue to refuse to use their substantial clout, power and resources to shut this industry down, in spite of their own stance that horse-drawn carriages should be banned from NYC.

MTA Shut Down but Not Carriage Horses! ASPCA Hello?
President Obama declared a state of emergency for New York State about 5 p.m. on Friday in anticipation of Hurricane Irene, a Category 2 storm, making landfall on the East Coast. Philip E. Parr, a former member of the New York City Fire Department and former federal coordinator for relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina, was named the coordinating officer.
The President of the US - not even the mayor or governor - but the President!
Yet as of 1:36 PM on Saturday- the ASPCA has still not suspended the carriage horses from working. Do they know more than all the weather forecasters?
We know that they have always enabled the industry - but this is just absurd!

f. Owners shall not allow a horse to be worked on a public highway, path or street during adverse weather or other dangerous conditions which are a threat to the health or safety of the horse. A horse being worked when such conditions develop shall be immediately returned to the stable by the most direct route.
NYC Charter - Title 24 Chapter 04 -- § 4-05. Working Conditions.
(b) Environment. (1) Owners shall not allow a horse to be worked on a public highway, path or street during adverse weather or other conditions which are a threat to the health or safety of the horse and the public. Adverse weather conditions shall include but not be restricted to snow, ice, heavy rain or other
slippery conditions. A horse being worked when such conditions develop shall be returned to the stable by the most direct route as soon as practicable.

If the ASPCA is afraid to suspend the business for safety and humane reasons, afraid that they might be sued, then they are not doing their job. The City of NY should enter a contract with an outside entity and dump the ASPCA.

YouTube Gives me Monetize Tubes Not Partnership
Wow -- something to do during Hurricane Irene -- manually submit close to 800 YouTubes because YouTube still has resisted giving me a partnership. Guess it is who you know and who you .......? Having silly childish light content is recommended....
Even after I apply I can be turned down. YouTube gave me partnership or monetized my funny Cathie Black YouTube only to remove the ads. I don’t see YouTube doing that with their special pets.
How annoying. You know I dream of walking away from all this but until the next mayor is in office and I am confident the mayor not Christine Quinn I will be YouTubing a way.
Am I grateful to Google YouTube and Blogger in some ways? Hugely but it has also be beyond awful from having my entire YouTube channel removed before an election too close to call but I warned on YouTube half a year before Mike Bloomberg might not win do to voter anger to lonely mentally ill some people obsessed with me. I had no idea and I do not have an agent or publicist.... get my point -- no you problem don’t. I also have gathered I have a very small group of intelligent people that get the layers of messages including about how women are “seen” -- the male gaze as per John Berger Ways of Seeing....
Yeah -- very few people are going to use their brains to think....
