NYPD Legend Chief Seedman Photo and Update From Florida Funeral

Above is a photo of NYPD legend Chief Seedman's devoted wife Henny with the subject of my YouTube documentary NYPD Hero Joe Sanchez who Chief Seedman was very kind and supportive of before he died when Joe and his family visited him 3 years ago.

Yesterday there was a good turn out and than Chief Seedman's family which includes 3 generations departed for NYC for Tuesday's memorial and I expect Shomrim's presence and Commish Kelly's as well.

Thank you to Ron Reynolds for the photos and his memo and Joe too.  I am including just 2 photos and FYI my Dad also fought and survived The Battle of The Bulge.  I was blessed to spend all day with him yesterday.

Below Ron Reynolds writes:

On Sunday, May 19, 2013, Joe Sanchez  and I, Ron Reynolds, both former members of the NYPD, drove from Palm Coast, Florida, to Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel, Delray Beach, FL, to attend a service for former NYPD Chief of Detectives Albert Seedman, who passed away at the age of 94 on May 17, 2013.
Rabbi Jonathan Kaplan officiated. Joe and I represented the Northeast 10-13 and FOP Lodge 171, The Phil Cardillo Lodge, both Palm Coast.

I have enclosed pictures of the service which includes Henny Seedman and Alison Stiegler, wife and granddaughter respectively.

Chief Seedman, became a Transit Police Officer in 1941. He served during the war and landed among the greatest invasion in history, Normandy. He was also at the Battle of the Bulge. He returned from the war and decided to join the NYPD.  As all New York City Police officers recall, Chief Seedman was a cigar chewing detective and a cop's cop.

There was a uniform contingent of retired 10-13 NYPD Honor Guard and the playing of bagpipe. Alison Stiegler, granddaughter, gave the Eulogy. There were other retired NYPD officers from other parts of Florida that attended the service.
