Opinion piece below:As we await coverage of the Joe Tacopina - Alex Rodriguez cases, as this blog has noted, there is this pattern of high profile crooks getting "IMMUNITY" deals so the officials can go after other targets of opportunity....if they go after anyone at all.
In Bernie Kerik's matter, he alleges that his former lawyer, Joe Tacopina, who he claims ratted him out, obtained an "immunity waiver" from the FEDS which seemingly permitted Tacopina and his posse/minions to act above the law. At least that is the allegation. Bernie Kerik complains he heard of former clients feeling like Tacopina and his minions mistreated them. He accused them of extortion and intimidation tactics. Is this a fringe benefit for being an INFORMANT RAT lawyer? (How about sleeping with a client's wife?). At least, Kerik and his hard-fighting lawyer want to know.
There have been comparisons of Tacopina to HBO Series, the Soprano's, Sal "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero who was deemed a 'Rat' after he was caught selling drugs by the FEDS and wore a wire to rat out Tony Soprano in the HBO series. In one scene from the Soprano's, Big Pussy brings out a bottle of alcohol, "J.W. Gold," to his FBI agent handler and even calls him "skip," which is what he used to call Tony. "Big Pussy" then starts a conversation in a driveway in Jersey with the agent over picking his own witness protection location in Scotsdale, AZ. Big Pussy continues to feed information against Tony Soprano for the crimes of extortion and attempt to defraud the government, Rico predicates he Pussy exclaims - oddly, very similar to Kerik's own allegations against Mr. Tacopina
Now, we have an FBI Informant with apparent dual citizenships with Italy and who refuses to allow for all discovery to be released in thge criminal case against Kerik which holds the keys to his proffer agreements. The NY Daily News reports Kerik's lawyer feels "Big Pussy" Tacopina may be feeling jurisdiction with his bag of profits from a racketeering enterprise. I mean, if anyone should know the law, one might think Bernie Kerik might understand it as a former NYC Police Commissioner with his high profile counsel. Rumor is that Tacopina will never agree to be deposed.

Here is where I am going with this. If A-ROID had an "immunity" or "Queen-for-a-Day" agreement that the DEA would not prosecute him, why in the world was he making assertions to the NY Press, Radio Host Mike Franceso, and others he had no ties to steroids or illegal drugs (PEDS)? Was this all a staged event? Moreover, was why Tacopina claiming A-ROID had no ties to steroids or illegal performance drugs (PEDS) during his several lawsuits and news interviews ? VERY strange.
It seems very suspicious A-ROID and Tacopina would come out together and sue the NY Yankees and MLB and assert they were unaware of steroid or illegal drugs but did not know of the alleged DEA proffer agreement. Did A-ROID hide it from them? Did they know of it and just lie to everyone anyone for a bag of money? So, was this the reason Tacopina dropped the A-ROD lawsuits? Did the FBI have to "reel in: Tacopina and his junior partner, Dina Nesheiwat aka Bikini Dina (to old to be Sandy Rubenstein's junior a) shown in her Bikini with Tacopina in a swimming pool on July 4th. Did the Feds force him to stop before he (Tacopina) caused any further embarrassment to the government ?
So, in watching this Soprano's skit that makes fiction seem real and life like fictional script, I will ask the $64,000 question, did the FBI have to "reel in" their Informant RAT lawyer, Tacopina, and Dina Bikini Nesheiwat, before they further embarrassed the FEDS alleged "proffer immunity agreement" with him if they went over the line? This is why we should allow Bernie to question Tacopina (under oath) over his "proffer agreements" with the FEDS so we, the public, can have some oversight of the governmental process we all help pay for and that we are expected to participate. Just humble opinions thoughts insights....
