Capt. Winski, NYPD, does something look suspicious to you? The infamous "Loading and Unloading Sign for The Mercer Hotel only" has been removed, and a new sign much smaller w/ fewer words has been put up a few feet in front of the original sign

No I am not trying to impersonate John Travolta but I am standing next to a circle on the ground where I believe the original sign was placed!  Now it has been moved with or most likely without DOT's official blessing and whom ever did it has installed the new sign super sloppy and it doesn't look safe.  This sign is very different.  It is much smaller with less words.
If this was done without DOT than The Mercer Hotel as broken several different laws but I have to ask Capt. Winski if the 1st Precinct is actually going to investigate this.  
DOT has responded to my complaint Friday and said to contact the NYPD -- see down below how the NYPD responded.

I called up the 1st Precinct and I was told by the Officer the signs are up so it is not an issue. 

I told him I had a different understanding than his answer because DOT did not remove this sign and move or at least it would appear that way if DOT is telling me to contact the NYPD but the officer's response was "The sign is up".

Wow!  Shocking.   I have to pinch myself.  Very, very disturbing.
